change uid/god below 100
...ly indirectly related to zfs. I need to test diskusage/performance on zfs shared via nfs. I have installed nevada b64a. Historically uid/gid for user www has been 16/16 but when I try to add uid/gid www via smc with the value 16 I''m not allowed to do so. I''m coming from a FreeBSD backgroup. Here I alter uid using vipw and edit /etc/group afterwards. -- regards Claus When lenity and cruelty play for a kingdom, the gentlest gamester is the soonest winner. Shakespeare

understanding users mapping
Hello all, Im Fran, and im from Spain. Im currently using an english book to setup my samba server, and im having problems understanding it. I explain my problem. I dont want to use root to join clients to the domain; i prefer creating a plain user. Ok, so, the steps i follow are: net groupmap add unixgroup=srvadmins ntgroup="Server Admins" net groupmap add ntgroup="Domain

...( or both checked ? ) Samba version and smb.conf Example output where you see this. I guessing its : smbstatus -a All i can say for now, on Buster and Stretch with 4.10.6 this is ok. ( at my side ). And the "root/root" you see, isnt that the user Administrator. That for example in backgroup is installing things AND you have setup a roaming profile for Administrator. Then yes, its normal. ;-) Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] Namens > Rowland penny via samba > Verzonden: maandag 5 augustus 2019...

tftp-hpa loads but stalls
...WfM 2.0) The client gets an ip address (10.0.0.170), netmask and gateway ip. The client gives up with: "PXE-E32: TFTP open timeout" That all the info I can give. Any clue to why tftpd-hpa hangs during a read request? Is there a way to see the details of what tftpd-hpa is doing in the backgroup (have tried -v option)? Quinn

Re: [advocacy] Ogg & Ogg Vorbis _unofficial_ logos page.
Done, anybody can send me his logo and I promise to publish it on my page without any previous censorship. Thanks. P.S. I used OpenOffice Draw because Sodipodi does no yet support grids which I need badly for my designs (I have some AutoCAD backgroup and I am a very technical guy, apart from that I love Sodipodi and in fact the SVG on my site has been retouched with it). By the way I recommend all the open music "aficionados" to visit http://www.magnatune.com as it can be the "record company" that matches the views of t...

W10 Pro 1903 and Samba with Roaming Profiles: "We can't sign in to your account"
..., did you config these in the GPO to allow these? Use FQDN in you \\server\share so its \\hostname.domain\share And read : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/folder-redirection/deploy-roaming-user-profiles My guess, using FQDN in the shares changes NTLM to Kerberos in the backgroup. And even MS Docs is not consistant. First they show this : For example: \\fs1.corp.contoso.com\User Profiles$\%username% Then in the table below Windows 10, version 1703 and version 1607 \\<servername>\<fileshare>\<username>.V6 I say, use FQDN\share only these days, it hel...

Subsetting to unique values
I want to take the first row of each unique ID value from a data frame. For instance > ddTable <- data.frame(Id=c(1,1,2,2),name=c("Paul","Joe","Bob","Larry")) I want a dataset that is Id Name 1 Paul 2 Bob > unique(ddTable) Will give me all 4 rows, and > unique(ddTable$Id) Will give me c(1,2), but not accompanied by the name column.
