how to get R interpreter to remember constant values without using any memory location
Maybe I expect too much from a non compiled language.
Anyway, I wonder whether it is possible in R to set constant values without using any memory location that would take useless space
bacause such values are not going to be changed along the program. It's just a way to assign a mnemnic name tos some constant values.

Got some solutions myself.
LAG is caused by :
NETDEV WATCHDOG eth0 timeout
this is caused bacause of problems with rtl8139 network card in kernel 2.6.x
Solutions :
1.add in lilo.conf : append="noapic"
2.turn apic off in bios
3.if u have 2 rtl8139 cards, then exchange one with some other card type
(chipset)
btw. all above was found in various polish forums, but none has worked
for...

rhtml produces so many white places?????
Hi,
I have a rhtml file that uses some ruby code inside,
there are not too ruby codes, but it repeats itself
thousands of time. I find out each time when the ruby
code execute, it will produce the html code correctly.
But the produced html will conseved the "format" of
the rhtml, and it adds a lot no used white space!!!!

I've seend that (on list archive, or in some debian bugs, i don't
remember) but seems not relevant to me bacause i've had just do
'classic upgrade', eg i was just in AD mode when upgrade from 4.2 to
4.5.
Because i've snapshotted the VM before doing the upgrade, i can give it
a second try.
But provide me some hints on steps to reproduce...

Is there a way I can use ssh for that ?? The reason I'm asking this is that on system B its a functional unix account and not everyone wants to have the same .profile.
I cant use automount options bacause of all our firewalls :-)

php api binding for setting interface link flags (up/down).
Hello. I can't see in php api reference info about setting port status
of interface.
virsh have comands virsh domif-setlink, but php api does not have link
funstions.
Please add this interface, bacause it very useful - then we need to
disable some vps, but not want to shutdown it.

Upgrading samba from jessie (4.2) to stretch (4.5) in AD mode...

effectively it is simpler. I've added surely 'ldap server require strong auth =
allow_sasl_over_tls' to make exim work, and 'dsdb:schema update allowed =
true' to modify schema.
Clearly i've added 'logon *' options bacause i need it. ;)
Other things probably added to make windbind NSS and PAM providers
work, but finally i've switched to SSSD.

Damaged source medium during rsync
What happens when rsync'ing a file that is damaged bacause of a bad sector on
the source medium? I assume that the file will be synchronized partially,
overwriting any file of the same name on the destination medium. If that is
the case, is there a way to make rsync check readability of files before
overwriting them on the target medium (e.g. by syn...

2) If the original netdev is a slave, you cannot have any IP address

incoming packet). So you will break the user bacause he would have to
move the configuration to the new master device.
This only makes sense that the original netdev becomes the master for both
netvsc and virtio_net.

highmem pages. And change code which directly adjusts totalram_pages
to use adjust_managed_page_count() because it adjusts totalram_pages,
totalhigh_pages and zone->managed_pages altogether in a safe way.
Remove inc_totalhigh_pages() and dec_totalhigh_pages() from xen/balloon
driver bacause adjust_managed_page_count() has already adjusted
totalhigh_pages.
This patch also fixes two bugs:
1) enhances virtio_balloon driver to adjust totalhigh_pages when
reserve/unreserve pages.
2) enhance memory_hotplug.c to adjust totalhigh_pages when hot-removing
memory.
