Compilation problems with R4.4.0
.....got everything working. Does this need reporting upstream as a bug in R or lapack? I'm good now, but it might help others to get this fixed.

Old style and new style classes
...ve developers. Is this true? Do new style classes have an active future? Is R committed to them? Insightful?
I use old-style (S version3 engine) and new-style (S version4) classes in the sense of Venables and Ripley.
