B62 AHCI and ZFS
Hardware Supermicro X7DAE (AHCI BIOS) dual Intel Woodcrest processors, 6 x Western Digital Raptor SATA drives. I have installed b62 running 64 bit succesfully on a PATA drive. The BIOS is configured to access the SATA drives in native mode using hte AHCI Bios. I have 6 SATA II drives accessed via the Solaris AHCI driver. I have created a ZFS file system across all 6 drives. This works fine until I reboot. ZFS then shows the dri...

If there are some passes in LLVM do the opposite of the SROA(Scalar Replacement of Aggregates) pass
Hi LLVM developers, We tried to find if there are some passes in LLVM do the opposite of the SROA(Scalar Replacement of Aggregates) pass, but did not find one. Do we have this kind of pass to bring back the structure type? Or this is done separately in any transformation passes? Thanks, Lin-Ya -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

problem with musiconhold
Hi everybody, I'm receiving the message "res_musiconhold.c:309 monmp3thread: Request to schedule in the past?!?!" in asterisk console when I try to put a call on hold. I don't the reason and I'm sure the relative module is loaded. In musiconhold.conf I put these lines, trying something I found in some previous post: ; ; Music on hold class definitions ; [classes]

GRUB + zpool version mismatches
Apparently with zfs boot, if the zpool is a version grub doesn''t recognize, it merely ignores any zfs entries in menu.lst, and apparently instead boots the first entry it thinks it can boot. I ran into this myself due to some boneheaded mistakes while doing a very manual zfs / install at the summit. Shouldn''t it at least spit out a warning? If so, I have no issues filing a

SMART
...enSolaris in April happen to include the dad driver (the SPARC IDE driver) that contains the missing ioctls for SMART that Matty thought could be ported to the cmdk driver (the x86 Solaris IDE driver)? http://www.itjungle.com/tug/tug042607-story08.html I''m a Solaris newbie trying Nevada b62 now that it supports ZFS mirror boot. The last time I installed Solaris, it was called SunOS. Cheers, 11011011

zfs: allocating allocated segment(offset=77984887808 size=66560)
how does one free segment(offset=77984887808 size=66560) on a pool that won''t import? looks like I found http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6580715 http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/zfs-discuss/2007-September/042541.html when I luupgrade a ufs partition with a dvd-b62 that was bfu to b68 with a dvd of b74 it booted fine and I was doing the same thing that I had done on another machine (/usr can live on raidz if boot is ufs) on a zfs destroy -r z/snv_68 with lzjb and {usr var opt} partitions it crashed with: Oct 11 14:28:11 nas ^Mpanic[cpu0]/thread=b4b6ee00:...

ZFS disables nfs/server on a host
I have an Ultra 10 client running Sol10 U3 that has a zfs pool set up on the extra space of the internal ide disk. There''s just the one fs and it is shared with the sharenfs property. When this system reboots nfs/server ends up getting disabled and this is the error from the SMF logs: [ Apr 16 08:41:22 Executing start method ("/lib/svc/method/nfs-server start") ] [ Apr 16

Lots of overhead with ZFS - what am I doing wrong?
I was trying to simply test bandwidth that Solaris/ZFS (Nevada b63) can deliver from a drive, and doing this: dd if=(raw disk) of=/dev/null gives me around 80MB/s, while dd if=(file on ZFS) of=/dev/null gives me only 35MB/s!?. I am getting basically the same result whether it is single zfs drive, mirror or a stripe (I am testing with two Seagate 7200.10 320G drives hanging off the same interface
