zfs kills box, memory related?
Hello, I''m new to OpenSolaris and ZFS so my apologies if my questions are naive!
I''ve got solaris express (b52) and a zfs mirror, but this command locks up my box within 5 seconds:
% cmp first_4GB_file second_4GB_file
It''s not just these two 4GB files, any serious work in the filesystem (but I suspect the larger the file the worse it gets) bring the box to its knees.
I''ve tried setting t...

SNOM 360 Unknown SIP command 'PUBLISH'
Hi List
I'm getting this notification from my one and only SNOM 360 every time a
number button is pushed.
I know that it's only a notification, but it really irritates me. Is it
anything I can/should do anything about ??

Generalized least squares using "gnls" function
Hi:
I have data from an assay in the form of two vectors, one is response
and the other is a predictor. When I attempt to fit a 5 parameter
logistic model with "nls", I get converged parameter estimates. I also
get the same answers with "gnls" without specifying the "weights"
argument.
However, when I attempt to use the "gnls" function and try to

Hello:
I have read rsync manual and several howtos on how to use rsync, still
I don't know if it's doable what I want to do, and if yes, how.
The scenario:
I would like to make a local copy of openSUSE 13.2 repositories.
I use openSUSE linux.
The repos are located in a multi-level directory structure, eg:
ftp://ftp.halifax.rwth-aachen.de/opensuse/repositories/
