rsync, OpenSolaris, & Mac Attributes?
...xtended attribute patches, but have
been running into some compatibility problems when rsyncing via SSH from a
Mac to the Solaris server (I'm not running daemon mode on the server, but
rsync 3.0.3 pre2 is installed and in the bash path). For example, running *"

However, when I add some extra flags to support the Mac...

[PATCH 5/7] vga_switcheroo: Use device link for HDA controller
...to runtime suspend before the GPU can.)
It is thus crucial that runtime PM is always activated on the HDA
controller even if CONFIG_SND_HDA_POWER_SAVE_DEFAULT is set to 0 (which
is the default), lest the GPU stays awake. This is achieved by setting
the auto_runtime_pm flag on every codec and the AZX_DCAPS_PM_RUNTIME
flag on the HDA controller.
A side effect is that power consumption might be reduced if the GPU is
in use but the HDA controller is not, because the HDA controller is now
allowed to go to D3hot. Before, it was forced to stay in D0 as long as
the GPU was in use. (There is no redu...

Rsync does not delete
Hi!
I'm running rsync with rsnapshot and realized that files don't get deleted from the backup. So I checked the call from r my backup.
So I checked the call from rsnapshot and started rsync manually like this:
/usr/bin/rsync -azx --delete --numeric-ids --relative --delete-excluded --exclude=/srv/backup/* --rsh=/usr/bin/ssh root@mysql:/boot /srv/backup/daily.0/mysql_boot/
However, rsync won't delete file which have gone away from the senders' side.
Anyone an idea why?

[PATCH 0/7] Modernize vga_switcheroo by using device link for HDA
Modernize vga_switcheroo by using a "device link" to enforce a runtime PM
dependency from an HDA controller to the GPU it's integrated into.
Remove thereby obsoleted code and fix a bunch of bugs.
Device links were introduced in v4.10.
Users might see a small power saving if the discrete GPU is in use and
its HDA controller is not, because the HDA controller is now allowed

...erver):
ignoring unsafe symlink "/etc/rc2.d/S20inetd" (in backups) ->
"/rsyncd-munged/../init.d/inetd"
What I am trying to do is copy these symlinks as they are, regardless of
where they point to.
On the client (rsync v. 2.6.9 on a Debian Etch server), I run:
rsync -azx -v /etc/ rsync@192.168.1.251::backups/etc/
The rsync daemon is rsync v. 3.0.4 on a Synology Disk Station, with the
following rsyncd.conf:
use chroot = no
[backups]
path = /volume1/backups
uid = root
gid = root
read only = no
auth users = root,rsync

rsync -x does not do the same on EL 5.6 and 5.7
Hi,
We re doing backups of all filesystems to a dedicated server using "rsync
-x". Now, the latest CentOS versions (5.7/6.x) come with rsync-3.0.6
instead of rsync-2.x. That's nice but unfortunately it doesn't do the same
as 2.x in certain situations.
The problem is with the -x option, which does not delete content under a
mount point anymore. It was my impression that this is

[PATCH v2 0/7] Modernize vga_switcheroo by using device link for HDA
Modernize vga_switcheroo by using a device link to enforce a runtime PM
dependency from an HDA controller to the GPU it's integrated into, v2.
Changes since v1:
- Replace patch [1/7] to use pci_save_state() / pci_restore_state()
for consistency between runtime PM code path of bound and unbound
devices. (Rafael, Bjorn)
- Patch [5/7]: Drop an unnecessary initialization. (Bjorn)

hivex: Make node names and value names with embedded null characters accessible
On Windows, there exist at least two APIs for dealing with the
Registry: The Win32 API (RegCreateKeyA, RegCreateKeyW, etc.) works
with null-terminated ASCII or UTF-16 strings. The native API
(ZwCreateKey, etc.), on the other hand works with UTF-16 strings that
are stored as buffers+length and may contain null characters. Malware
authors have been relying on the Win32 API's inability to

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
