can ls files, but can't cat files
I have a server roark (fedora core 5 with samba 3.0.23a-1.fc4.1) with a
home directory awilliam. I'm trying to mount it on my linux workstation
(fedora core 5, samba 3.0.23a-1.fc5.1). On my workstation I do:
mount -t cifs "//roark/awilliam" /mnt/roark-awilliam/ -o
username=awilliam,password=xxxxxx
and when I cd to /mnt/roark-awilliam, ls works, but if I cat a file I

openldap - samba
I am having a problem getting users that were added in smbldap-useradd to be
able to login.
After I add them they are visible, but you can see I get this error -
pdb_get_group_sid:
Failed to find Unix account for test10
I believe that this has something to do with nss_ldap. because doing a
getent passwd, it doesn't display any smb info.
Any debugging info or help would be amazing, I'm

smbpasswd database is corrupt!
I added myself into OpenLDAP and deleted my user account from
/etc/passwd. Now samba complains in the log file:

database is corrupt! username awilliam with uid 511 is not in unix
passwd database!
however, I'm resolving my awilliam with nss_ldap, so I can ssh and su -l
awilliam fine. so shouldn't samba be able to get

folder redirection of my documents
I have a PC running XP that several users share. I've logged in as them
on it and right clicked on my documents and redirected it for each
person to r:\my documents so that their roaming profiles will load
faster. I've ran into a problem that when anyone logs out on this PC,
XP attempts to synchronize my documents of everyone that has logged into
that PC with folder redirection.

Persisting Routes In A Routing Table Other Than The Default
I need to add persistent routes to a policy routing table. I can add
rules to an IP policy table after installing NetworkManager-config-
routing-rules; but I have not found how to add routes to a table other
than the specific table.
Manually I do a:
ip route add default via 192.168.1.6 dev ens192 table pods
Rules load automatically via the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/rules-
{interface}

Upgraded SAMBA4 DC's, now no logon scripts
Logon scripts assigned to a user do not execute when the user logs on;
it did before the upgrade.
I can run the script from the command line and it completes OK [like
\\{DOMAIN}\netlogon\logon.bat]. I can also browse to the [netlogon]
share without issue.
Upgrade was from a late 4.0.x to 4.1.x to current 4.2.x. User's can
logon without other issues [apparently].

target doesn't allow inferior mailboxes
Using Seamonkey as my email client, and IMAP to check mail. If I create
a new IMAP folder, and then delete it, I get the error:
The current command did not succeed. The mail server responded: Target
mailbox doesn't allow inferior mailboxes.
Tried a google search, didn't really come up with anything. I have rw
permissions on /home/awilliam/Mail/* and delete the files fine using rm

default profile
Hi,
I installed a SaMBa PDC and a BDC. When I log in to an XP client with a new
user, sometimes I get the initial profile settings from the netlogon share,
but often from local. When I get the local default settings, it is not
syncronized to the server at logout. Even if I get the new profile from the
server, on the same client, next time, with a new user, I get the new
profile from local. I
