mystery process "unit"
Ok, dumb question. On a certain LAMP server I am seeing in 'ps auxf' a process called "unit" with no arguments or other path info. It has a fairly low pid, 3041, indicating it might have been started soon after reboot (last week). but ps says it was started yesterday, I don't see it on any of 3 other CentOS machines. It is hard to google for...

How to get uuid info inside a lxc container created by libvirt_lxc
Hi , Is there anyway to get uuid info inside a lxc container which is created by libvirt_lxc? For kvm, we can use dmidecode or lshw to get this info inside vm. Is there any tools to do this thing for libvirt lxc? Thanks for any help~ -- ------------ Jackie Best Regards

Why does my DomU keep going mad?
Hi All, I''ve got a DomU that sometimes goes mad. I can''t ssh or usually even console to it. The time I did manage to console I got a load of dumps about being out of memory and swap, but couldn''t run any commands to find out which process had gone mad :( From Dom0 I can see the DomU at 100% CPU and can only stop it with a destroy. What can I do/check to find

Winbind timeouts/hangs(?)
...eady been integrated into Debian (I guess not...), but switching the order of winbind and sssd and putting the latter last (which is fine in the environment that I use winbind in) seems to at least cause the timeouts to disappear; I'm not 100% certain that the problems are fixed, because ps auxf sometimes still "hangs" for a while, but at least it looks better than before. I'll try to get some more info on the sssd fix; possibly opening a Debian bug report for that should be worth it. Thanks for the hints and I'm hoping that this fixes things for now! -- --- Heiko W...

smbmount often doesn't go daemon
...s the share and goes into daemon mode and ps -aux shows one process smbmount. All ok. However in the other 50% the command just hangs. If i open a new window it did do the mount (i can do ls in /mnt/dsk and see the files). But smbmount doesn't return me to the linux prompt. When i do 'ps auxf' i see two smbmount processes of which the second one is a child of the first one. I can do CTRL-C here in the first window and stop that smbmount and it leaves o n e smbmount process. When i add the option debug=10 for example, the output is exactly the same the time it hangs and when not...

Support for Hyper-V
Hi, I would like to know if libvirt support Hyper-V deployed in Windows 2012 server. Does libvirt talk to Hyper-V using the REST API provided by Microsoft (where SCVMM & SPF are deployed)? >From the web site, I see that libvirt support only "Hyper-V 2008 R2" Many thanks in advance. x86_64 server OOM problems after update to 5.3
Hello, Over the weekend, I upgraded one of my servers that runs mysql and pdns to 5.3. Previous to the update I have not had an issue form this server. But since, I have had mysql die multiple times from oom-killer. $ uname -a Linux rack2a 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5 #1 SMP Wed Apr 1 09:10:25 EDT 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Unfortunately, the server has been rebooted by others before I have been

Seeing dropped packets / tcp retrans on latest 4.4.1-10el6
...ing looks fine, dumping on the dom0 indicates incoming packets are fine, but the reply from the domU is broken. This does not happen running the exact same VMs on some older xen 4.1.3 hosts. Reproduction is easy (for me at least), any burst of traffic will do it. I've just been running "ps auxf" over ssh to a vm to trigger. Since I'm seeing it on the host when I sniff the vif, this feels like a bug? - Nathan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... xenconsole: Could not read tty from store: No such file or directory
Hello Community, I encountered an error while running "xm console domU". Here is the running script: # xm console domU xenconsole: Could not read tty from store: No such file or directory I googled and found out that this issue is mostly result from forgetting starting xenconsole service. However, after I started xenconsole, the issue is still there. Please see: #
