user/domain-dependent autosubscribe ?
Newbie alert! Dovecot 2.0rc3
I've got autosubscribe working very well, but I need to make it
dependent on the domain - e.g. domain example.com will have folders
(a,b,c), while domain example2.com will have (d,e,f). Any hints on how
to achieve that?

Sieve/autosubscribe subfolder
Hi,
I just ran across the annoying issue, that with
lda_mailbox_autocreate = yes
lda_mailbox_autosubscribe = yes
set, parent folders of newly created subfolders get subscribed without
being existent.
Let me give an example:
In sieve I use
fileinto "foo/bar";
but "foo/" does not exist as folder. So the Mailbox "foo/bar" gets
created, but without "foo/"

Can't save to folders
When I login through imap, I can see everything in ~/mail/ just fine. I
cannot save to any of them. If I have an autocreate-autosubscribe folder
(ZZZ here), it shows up as empty (correct). Then if I save something to
it through imap, a file ~/mail/ZZZ appears, but nothing actually gets
saved to it.

Valid config for lda_mailbox_autosubscribe with dovecot 1.2?
Hi,
Due to some reasons I've to support both dovecot 1.2 and dovecot 2.x, and I
just found that the -s parameter I used to autosubscribe to sieve folders
doesn't exist anymore in dovecot 2.x
The problem arises because (AFAIK) in postfix's master.cf you can only
specify one configuration, and I used to have this:
dovecot unix - n n - - pipe

Auto-subscribe to folders
...e users will have an autocreated Junk folder (for SPAM) and
we want the users not to be un-subscribed for this folder; so if the
user wants to be unsubscribed (from outlook, webmail, etc), there are
two options: a) the action is rejected or denied; b) the next time
he/she logins, then the folder is autosubscribed again. Could this be
done? How?
Thanks in advance.

Headsup on feature removal
Hi!
Dovecot is now a nearly 20 year old product, and during that time it has accumulated many different features and plugins in its core repository.
We are starting to gradually remove some of these parts, which are unused, untested or deprecated.
We will provide advance notification before removing anything.
To start, the following features are likely to be removed in next few releases of

seeking sasl configuration example
hi everyone
could someone show me there sasl configuration section in their
dovecot.conf,
i have postfix and dovecot setup for virtual users (no system users)
everything works fine including tls,
i have tried various examples off the web for sasl but they either have
obsolete parameters
or are for a setup with system users,
i would prefer to use dovecots sasl implementation.

autocreate ONLY for new Users
thanks for the feedback!
Userdb would be an option, however we would need to extend our LDAP
Schema with an additional "autocreate flag". Modifying the LDAP import
scripts, this is quite a task. Another option we were thinking of is
creating the special folders by a script right after user creation.
By far the best and easiest solution would be a flag to auto-create the
special folders

Automatically subscribe to the INBOX folder
...nfiguration
section in the usual fashion (as shown in conf.d/15-mailboxes.conf):
namespace inbox {
inbox = yes
mailbox Drafts {
special_use = \Drafts
auto = subscribe
}
...
}
When I connect to an account with the Thunderbird mail client, those
mailboxes/folders get autocreated and autosubscribed. Good!
INBOX, however, does not get subscribed to automatically. When I look at
the account?s subscriptions in Thunderbird, all folders are subscribed,
except INBOX.
How can I enable autosubscribe for the INBOX folder (like the other
folders)? Is there an option for this? This is in Dovecot 2.2.2...

Problems getting auto create plugin to work
Hi there,
I've configured the 'autocreate' plugin (in v.2.1.6), but it doesn't appear to be working. Can someone help me work out how to work out why please?
I've got this in my 20-imap.conf file:
protocol imap {
mail_plugins = $mail_plugins antispam autocreate
}
and this in my 90-plugins.conf file:
plugin {
autocreate = Trash

difference between namespace auto=subscribe and autocreate plugin
Hello.
I read docs, but still do not understand difference between following
configuration options:
namespace inbox {
# Create and subscribe to folder
mailbox Drafts { auto=subscribe }
and `autocreate' plugin
plugin {
autocreate = inbox.Drafts
autosubscribe = inbox.Drafts
On wiki page that describes `autocreate' plugin i read:
... mailboxes that must always exist for all users.

Autocreate No namespace for Problem

autocreate: No namespace found for Trash
autocreate: No namespace found for Spam
autocreate: No namespace found for Sent
autocreate: No namespace found for Trash

Why do I get this error ?
Do I need to create a separate namespace for every folder?
The config file looks like this:
