Migrating ZFS/data pool to new pool on the same system
...thing on the server should be messing with the pool. As I understand it the old way of doing iSCSI is going away so I should plan on Comstar. I''m also thinking I should just unshare the CIFS to prevent any of my computers from writing to it.
So migrating from pool1 to pool2
0. Turn off AutoSnapshots
1. Create snapshot -> zfs snapshot -r pool1 at snap1
2. Send/Receive -> zfs send -R pool1 at snap1 | zfs receive -F -d test2
3. Unshare CIFS and remove iSCSI targets. For the iSCSI targets, seems like I can''t re-use them for Comstar and the reservations aren''t carried over...

opensolaris crash in vn_rele()
...I could create a vbox
with linux or windows to run vmware''s conversion tool (not even

has some trouble with atomic 64bit operations.
Looking back, I had set up a little disaster waiting to happen,
but not this one - the laptop spontaneously p...

Hi all
I''m seeing some rather bad resilver times for a pool of WD Green drives (I know, bad drives, but leave that). Does resilver go through the whole pool or just the VDEV in question?

700GB gone?
I have a 1.5TB disk that has several partitions. One of them is 900GB. Now I can only see 300GB. Where is the rest? Is there a command I can do to reach the rest of the data? Will scrub help?
