sieve vacation script exclude based on sender email address
...can't seem to find any eveidence of that so
here goes.
I've been looking at the sieve docs and recipes, done a lot of googling but no joy so far.
Using stanard vacation script and that works great, however I want to exclude certain sender
email addressess from ever receiving a vacation autoresponse, how do I go about adding that to
my existing vacation recipe.
I suspect my search terminology is what is causing me not to find anything as I typically am using
exclude and similar search terms.

Maybe OT: Some strange problem with postfix
Hi all,
I have a strange problem with postfix on a CentOS 5.1 (fully patched). Every
time that postfix sends a message to public smtp servers generates an
autoresponse mail to sender about delay ...
Somebody knows how can I fix this??

sieve script not executed?
...quot; "date" "2017-10-09")
{
vacation :days 7 :addresses ["robi at hidden1","robi at hiden2"]
"eccoci a dopo";
}
Problem is that apparently this filter is completely ignored.. that is,
when a new email is delivered to those addresses, no autoresponse is
sent back to the sender.
I also, followed the troubleshooting guide here:
https://wiki2.dovecot.org/Pigeonhole/ManageSieve/Troubleshooting and
everything works as expected.
What is the problem? What am I missing?
Thank you and best regards.

Looking for a guide to collect all e-mail from the ISP mail server

Brilliant, thanks for the info.

That's a good idea. But then internal e-mails need to go out to the ISP, don't they? Because, if internal e-mails get delivered locally, the vacation
autoresponses on the ISP will not trigger, will they?
The trouble is, with that configuration, if the Internet link goes down, internal e-mail stops working too.
I was hoping that there would be a complete mail server setup guide somewhere for this kind of setup. But I guess I'll have to piece all these...

Vacation message and DMARC validation
...ue in the interaction between sieve vacation messages
and the SPF, DKIM and DMARC email validation systems.
For example, let's say we have a message coming from a at a.com to b at b.com
at a server imap.mydomain.com. The account b at b.com has a vacation rule
in sieve, and that generates an autoresponse to a at a.com. Our problem
begins with the definition of section-5.1 in RFC5230
<https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5230#section-5.1>. It says that the
envelope-from in vacation messages should be set to <>. This is the
behavior currently implemented in Dovecot.

FIX YOUR AUTO-RESPONDERS!!!
PLEASE CONFIGURE YOUR AUTORESPONSERS TO NOT SEND MESSAGES TO PEOPLE WHO POST IN MAILING LISTS YOU SUBSCRIBE TO.
This is an extremely rude thing to allow, and is becoming increasingly common, especially with users of the Asterisk-Users list.

use of deliver from procmail advisable?
Hi list,
I understand that dovecot's deliver does a little more than deliver:
it also updates the dovecot metadata stored with each Maildir. Thus,
if I use deliver as opposed to procmail's internal Maildir delivery,
it seems that the IMAP server later has less work to do since the
metadata is can use are up to date.
Doing this, however, incurs an extra process for each mail
delivered. I

This autoresponse program sends out 15,000 to 30,000+ articles each

everyone, and that keeps the number of requests under control!)
Requests are queued and processed every 15 minutes.

Looking for a guide to collect all e-mail from the ISP mail server
Hi all:
I am evaluating mail server solutions for a small business. The trouble is, I am only a part-time admin and a newbie to mail servers.
Most guides I have seen are rather unrealistic: they encourage you to expose your e-mail server to the Internet, and hope that you have the resources
to keep it patched up.
I would rather have an internal mail server that collects e-mails from a standard
