Upgrade to new drives in raid, larger
Hi all, As part of my raid experience, I have yet to have to do this, but was wondering how you guys would attempt it. I have 3 drives in a raid 1, with one as a hot spare. They are 250gb with all space used by two raid devices, 1 with boot, the other with LVMs filling them up. Now, lets say down the road I want to put in 500gb drives and replace them....yikes. Add RAID after install in one disk
Hi, I had this hard time installing a server with RAID 1 by software. I always got an error from GRUB and no booting. So, i've installed CentOS 4.4 normally in only one disk. How can

Here is what I have tried. Creating a single large partition with fdisk on each drive as linux autoraid to get a uuid. for some reason the OS assigns the same uuid and only one uuid to the last drive I partition from the 3ware card. Basically all drives on the 3ware card have the same uuid.. Using the /dev/disk/by-id/. For some reason the 3ware card does not always assign the same id to a drive aft...
