I am having an issue with doing FTP auto provisioning of Polycom 501's when they are behind a NAT. If I put the phone on the same subnet as the provision server it loads the configs and changes fine but as soon as I put in behind a NAT it comes up with cannot contact boot server. I have tried behind and replicated this behind a PIX 501, a Linksys SOHO router and a Motorolla SOHO router.

(fonality does something like that with polycoms) So far, the autoprovisioning links i've found talk about polycom phones and grandstream. but in this office (and country) linksys is better to get and much less expensive than polycom phones. Maybe some distro i haven't checked out that autoprovisions linksys 942? also, a guidance (howto, manual, web link) on autoprovisioning will be gladly welcomed. Hi all I have a few Polycom 331's but after following allot of advice I can't get them to provision from a dhcp boot server. We have a sonicwall router in place. I can press setup and set the FTP boot server to my * box. From there th phones boot fine. But I cannot get them to autoprovision. For those of you running Cisco phones, did you start out with a Cisco CallManager and move to Asterisk? And if you did switch do you find that you or your users are missing features they once had? Does anyone have any recommendations for a phone that has easy to understand/implement central provisioning? I've used CISCO 79XX phones, and they're great (but too expensive). I like Grandstream phones, but their provisioning sucks.
