2.2.x autobuilds: Debian Stable now Wheezy, which pool for 2.2.x?
...ust a few days ago. I'm not sure
whether to still follow the advice in the wiki for obtaining 2.2.x for
Wheezy, which (understandably, because the new Debian Stable release
has been so very recent) continues to refer to Wheezy as 'testing'.
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/PrebuiltBinaries#Automatically_Built_Packages
Presumably, the packages in the 'testing' autobuild system pick up
Debian's 'testing' pool libraries (or assume them to exist) and these
may no longer be the ones needed for Wheezy because Wheezy is
'Stable', in Debian-speak.
Does anyone know, for sure, which autobu...

Automatic Debian packages for Dovecot v2.2.
Hi,
For our testing enthusiasts I've created new automatic Debian
repositories for Dovecot v2.2. Repositories are available for Debian
oldstable, stable and testing, on both i386 and am64. Read the following
wiki item for more information:
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/PrebuiltBinaries#Automatically_Built_Packages
The repository for Dovecot v1.2 has been defunct for a few months now
and is expected to be removed soon.
For the coming month or so, the builders at Xi will not be active during
Dutch daytime. There are some issues with the virtual host's I/O
performance that need to be resolved first.

Ubuntu packages and broken link in docs
Hi,
Two things:
1. Does anyone know of a good PPA with updated packages of Dovecot for
Ubuntu? "For the latest Dovecot for latest Ubuntu LTS see Xiaoka APT
Repository. (Outdated. Could someone provide a ppa for latest stable
Dovecot, please?)"
2. On the http://wiki2.dovecot.org/PrebuiltBinaries#Ubuntu page there
is a link to a supposedly outdated PPA, the ppa page now redirects to

Dovecot Solr Panic
Hello Everyone,
I have a small base of users (30), but a lot of emails.
I have an error again when I am indexing a virtual folder with a large number of folders.
I appreciate this is a special case, but I am using dovecot and solr as it is, according to the documentation, the favourite way.
One user is using a large number of archives sub folders, by years, months and subfolders, since 5 years.

tags disappear in Thunderbird
We have -
Dovecot 1.0.15 (the default on Debian Lenny stable)
Thunderbird 3.1.4
In our installation the Inbox is a mbox and the other folders are maildir.
When we tag messages in Inbox, the tags disappear after a while. In the other folders they stay.
I found two possible solutions suggested -
1. Set mbox_lazy_writes=no
2. Convert the Inbox to maildir
What would be the best approach in your

Replication on dovecot 2.0
Hi Guys
I'm running an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS server and not being particually
inclined to upgrade I'm wondering what options I have for replication as
it appears to be running dovecot 2.0.19.
I saw the wiki page about replication and whilst it says you should use
2.2+ it doesn't say what the minimum requirements are, so I tried doing
what it says but I get:

Automatic Debian Dovecot repository now also includes amd64 binary packages.
...he master builder still builds packages for testing/i386
every hour. The slaves check for new source packages about 20 minutes
later.
Read the following wiki page for more information and read it carefully
when you are considering to use these packages:
http://wiki.dovecot.org/PrebuiltBinaries#Automatically_Built_Packages
Also, every day at four 'o clock in the morning, the latest source
packages are uploaded to the openSUSE build service, which builds
i386/amd64 binaries for several Ubuntu versions (experimental):

Error after setting up fts /solr for Open-Xchange
Hi,
just saw, that v2.2.13 is still the latest version in wheezy backports.
I don't really like the idea of messing around with self compiled
versions, at least not, if my original problem might as well have a
good possibility not to be resolved by the update.
I can't find anything regarding the " file

http://dovecot.org/releases/2.1/alpha/dovecot-2.1.alpha1.tar.gz
http://dovecot.org/releases/2.1/alpha/dovecot-2.1.alpha1.tar.gz.sig
So it's time for the first alpha version of Dovecot v2.1. There are no
huge intrusive changes, so I expect v2.1.0 to be released this year
(maybe even in a few months?)
The biggest changes are related to full text search handling. I'll
