Problem getting subpixel AA font rendering to work
...o I just opened up regedit and added the appropiate values in the right places: "FontSmoothing"="2", "FontSmoothingOrientation"="dword:000" , etc. Still no joy. I then reconfigured my fonts using dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig-config in order to make sure that autohinting wasn't being used (on native), and bmp fonts were disabled. Upon restarting 'x', still no AA joy. I would appreciate some help getting this to work, as the fonts are the primary reason I don't use Word on a regular basis.

Fonts in Wine again
...internal bitmaps in TTF. Sometimes the text looks very ugly, especially when i'm using different languages in the same text, but bitmaps exist only for English. So far the only way to avoid this is to remove bitmaps via FontForge. 2) While subpixel antialiasing works pretty good, it seems that autohinting is disabled or not sufficient. At least for the same document in OpenOffice I have _much_ better rendering than in MS Office. I tried to search for a solution, but I was not successful. Any help will be much appreciated.
