Samba4 Can we use two file-servers?
Hi
We've just added a second DC to our domain, both DCs are Samba4
DC1 is also the s3fs file server. If that goes down then so does the
file-server. IOW, we can still authenticate via DC2 but we cannot do any
work!
What are my options here? Is it possible to sync the files to DC2 and
use that in case of failure? Or maybe add a third box running smbd?

net join fails NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME
We want to join out Linux-Server:
SLES 10 SP1 x86 with Samba (samba-client-3.0.24-2.23)
to our W2000 Domain.
so i use the command:
net join -S TQ-NET.DE -UAdministrator
and i get the following Errormessage:
Failed to join domain!
ADS join did not work, falling back to RPC...

I see Rowland helped a bit already and good things going here..
For you setup, this is how i do my setup.
First your data path
/fs/gf
/fs/othere_path..
I normaly start with :
chmod 2775 /fs
chown root:"Domain Admins"
( optional share \\server\fs$ )
chmod 2775 /fs/gf
chown root:"Domain Admins"
( or chmod -R ... but i dont know if you already did setup more )

OpenSSH is not asking for passwords.

If you want more of the verbose output I can type it up or if you want
a lot of it, I can setup a ftp server and upload all the output.
