...le 15 fema 20 fema 17 fema 19 male 18 So the idea is mean(Lenght) by sex, in order to have sex: Male mean=XX Sex: Fema mean=YY In this case is quite easy to do it by a loop, but I have a huge DB so is not an option. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance! -- Jorge Cornejo Donoso Universidad Austral de Chile Portales 73, Coyhaique,CP 5950000, Region de Ais?n, Chile Tel +56 67 244520 Fax +56 67 239377

Multinomial logistic regression in complex surveys
Dear R-list members, I´m using the package "survey" and I need to find a function for multinomial logistic regression in a complex design. The functions that I see are only for dicotomic and ordinal variables. Thank you! **££!!*** Proliant!
This Proliant (ml330 G3) has an HP CSB-6 (LSI/Megaraid) disk controller that isn't recognised by the installer. A quick search on Google reveals drivers from RH7 - AS2.1 but nothing for 3 or 4 unless anyone knows different!? If not I'll just have to disable it and install a supported RAID card. Anyone!? Nigel

GAM without intercept
...without intercept) is far from the observed points. Probably I missunderstanding some key elements in gam modelling or using incorrect syntaxis. I don't know what the problem is. Example: Zone Sex Length 1 male 15 1 fema 20 1 fema 17 2 fema 19 2 male 18 The idea is to get the means by sex in each zone! Variable names as inputs...
Hi, I have been using R for a bit, but never came across this simple issue... So, I wonder if anyone could give me a hint on it. I have calculated a bunch o models and now need to compare them using AIC(). The issue seem to be that I have placed each output in a list object. So, the question is how to convert a string into variable names. Lets say I have all my models in a variables called :

what the best ? apt-get? yum or urpmi ?
Hello, I must make a choice concerning the use of a tool used to update rpms: yum, urpmi or apt-get. Personally, I use urpmi every day, without real problems (the dependences, even those of Perl are very well managed), the "hdlist" can be used in several forms , it contains a lot of funtions but, it is not integrated into up2date and does not have a graphic interface that fits Centos3
