Well done!
Great job! I'm considering converting all my mp3 files to Vorbis format. Only examples/encoder_example is a bit too simplistic (of course, being an example), and the cmdline tools aren't ready. I encode my mp3 files at 96 kbit/s, because that's enough for me. Will Vorbis do well at this rate? Any quick hacks I can make to examples/encoder_example.c? Perhaps Vorbis is of interest

building speex on macos x
...either built nor linked. thus my solution was to compile the getopt source (i replaced them with files from the latest gengetopt btw. i have no idea why i did that) and then link speexenc and speexdec by hand (because my knowledge of automake is too limited). it sound like a simple mistake that aught to be easy to fix. at least i do now have a working copy of each application. unfortunatly my only player with speex support, vcl, ouputs something that could possibly be voice but it's hard to tell since it's drowned in static noise. regards, -- hugo forss

VDQ : Have I made a wine's nest?
...ne or another /dev/tty ; but in which .wine? Should I do the symlink in both root's and btth's .wine? Or get rid of root's and do it only in btth's? Or what?? And if I should get rid of root's, with what command? Not yum again, and probably not rpm -e (which may be the same for aught I know). Or am I going to have to uninstall everything from the ground up, including my two configured and running GPS/topo map programs, and all of CXO -- and then do the whole shebang over from scratch?? <sob, whimper, sniff ...> Sorry to have blundered into all this like such a clueless...

WFMU has added an Ogg Vorbis stream
It's 40 kbps/22 kHz stereo. I tried to convince them to raise the sampling rate to 44.1 kHz, but they're determined to keep it within reach of urban dialup modem users. This aught to increase awareness of Ogg among artists and record collectors in NYC and beyond who would not have otherwise heard of Ogg Vorbis. 'FMU has a huge presence on the web. WFMU is a non-commercial, freeform radio station which serves the New York City/New Jersey area from on 91.1 FM from a studi...

Annoying "feature" in dovecot/pidgeonhole - include depth limitation
Hi all, I'm using dovecot 2.0.14 build on Debian. The maintainers obviously patch the dovecot source so that it uses the pidgeonhole sieve system. Today I ran into a very annoying issue: I created several sieve scripts and interlinked via the include command, only to find dovecot spewing this error message at me: SWREG Newsletter: line 14: error: cannot nest includes deeper than 10 levels.

easy way to stop old ssl's
HI all, When CentOS 7 was created things like SSLv2 TLSv1 TLSv1.1 etc... were all OK, but now they have fallen out of favor for various reasons. Updating to CentOS 7.7 does not automatically disable these types of items from apache - is there a script that is available that can be ran to bring a box up to current "accepted" levels ? Or is that an edit by hand, do it yourself on all your

acts_as_taggable, undefined method 'empty?'
I''ve tried out ''acts_as_taggable'', ''acts_as_taggable_on'' and ''acts_as_taggable_on_steroids'' and all of them output "undefined method ''empty?''" with the tag_cloud action. I am following the guides precisely. Yet I can find no references to this error anywhere, so I must be doing something wrong... I am on

CYGWIN Rsync exclude/include problem
I'm having troubles with getting rsync 2.5.5 (CYGWIN version) to include/exclude files they way I expect it to. I have mulled over the list postings and man pages regarding this and I am either missing something or ... well I don' know. I have a drive with 12 folders in the root however, I only want to rsync 5 of them (the ones marked with an *) and in those 4 I want to exclude certain

Weird issue with converting floats to integer
Any idea why this calculates the integer the way it does? irb> ("291.15".to_f * 100.0).to_i => 29114 Thanks, Tom -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group.
