Export to LaTeX
Dear Everybody!
I want to export data to LaTeX. As I want to employ the data as freely as
possible I want to avoid the xtable-command and instead generate some List
like
\MyOwnPrettyCommand{Adam}{Auer}{17}
\MyOwnPrettyCommand{Bertram}{Bauer}{14}
\MyOwnPrettyCommand{Christoph}{Huber}{75}
\MyOwnPrettyCommand{Damian}{Dorfer}{69}
\MyOwnPrettyCommand{Emanuel}{Eder}{43}
with \MyOwnPrittyCommand defined elsewhere.
As a pitty, if I make up about such a table in r, lets call it "A", and use

Enhanced MDISKCHK.COM and MEMDISK patches
Good day to all,
Gert Hulselmans requested a feature for MDISKCHK.COM that would function
roughly like GETARGS.COM[1] by Murali Krishnan Ganapathy: DOS SET
command output for MEMDISK kernel arguments passed by previous
boot-loaders. He also needed to support the case for
MEMDISK-in-a-MEMDISK type situations, where all MEMDISK kernel arguments
could be gathered together and output as a list

Problem with FreeDOS + himem64 + PXELINUX + memdisk
...s work for them.
So I would like to use himem64.exe. But there is apparently some
incompatibility between himem64.exe and memdisk on this laptop.
I would like to help fix this. My knowledge of x86 internals is
limited, but I am pretty good at testing binaries and reporting back
results...
Eric Auer, a FreeDOS developer, commented:
Note that MEMDISK access might fail while A20 is off - the handler
itself is in 40:[13] allocated low memory, but the disk itself is
in int 15 high memory as far as I remember. You should check the
MEMDISK sources to see how disk data is accessed an...

syslinux write intended bootsector to bootsectorfile support?
...nel string to menu
DEL A:\SYSLINUX.BIN //get rid of the bootsector again, it's now in MetaKern.
So it would perhaps be a nice addition if Syslinux could save bootsector to file without first requiring to write it to the diskette.
anyone using/creating FreeDOS and/or bootdisks from Linux:
Eric Auer made a PERL script which creates a bootsector for a target disk image or device. Might be usefull. Don't know if it's inspired on the SYSLINUX Linux-installer.

eltorito.sys
I just merged a version of the eltorito.sys sources, reconstructed by
Eric Auer to match the 1.4 binary and then converted to NASM by NoMySo,
to the Syslinux repository; I would greatly appreciate if people would
test it to make sure it didn't break in conversion.

ext3 to ext2 conversion causes kernel panic
Hi,
I try to convert my RedHat 7.3. partitions from ext3 to ext2. I have
found a thread dealing with this issue.
Thus: "tune2fs -O ^has_journal /dev/foo" and "e2fsck /dev/foo" will do
the magic! This works fine for "/boot" but when I try to convert "/" my
kernel panics? The kernel panics message appears shortly after the
attempt to startup kjournald.
