Asterisk (Comedian Mail) and AUDIX
Has anyone been able to successfully integrate the Avaya AUDIX voicemail
system with Asterisk?
I have been diligently investigating converting our small (Ontario, Canada)
office to Asterisk, and ditching our Avaya PBX. However, our head office
(New Jersey, USA) maintains our AUDIX system, and a) have no intentions of
leaving it and b) some users rely upon...

New voicemail app (supports many interfaces, including Audix)
We just completed a new implementation of voicemail for Asterisk. It's much cleaner than Comedian mail and can emulate several voicemail user interfaces, including Audix. It's a great replacement for Audix. All of the sounds/prompts are presently being re-recorded by a professional female voice.
If you are interest in the app, let us know at nt_jnewman at yahoo.com.

Voicemail systems- flow charts, digit/key cards, etc
Does anyone have flow charts or digit/key cards for some of the more popular voicemail systems out there?
(shows which digits/keys to press, where it takes you, etc.)
I need to create some of the new voicemail system.
Send 'em my way if you have them.

Asterisk freezes, no manager traffic, console functions
I have asterisk running as a voicemail system off of our Merlin Legend
switch. We replaced our old Audix Voice Power (when the power supply fan
died and burned it up) with asterisk a week ago. Many thanks to those who
provided information about integrated VMI on the legend.
The Audix system would, after a mailbox was closed, wait a few seconds,
then use that line to dial the switch and update the MW...

Merlin Legend
I have a legacy pbx that I know nothing about. The PBX is a merlin legend
system (now owned by avaya). I have found information on the list that I
can use a 100D T1 card to bridge the PBX to an asterisk system. We are
looking to head this route as well as replacing are AUDIX VM system with
Asterisk. Has anyone done this that wouldn't mind sharing some of the
merlin specific setup?

IAX2's JB and DTMF
...ll remote facilities are connected via highspeed (9mbit) connections
(Over OpenVPN) to a central Asterisk box, acting as a voice router, that
funnels all calls into our Avaya Definity G3R via PRI.
When corporate employees visit the remote facilities and try to call the
G3R's voice mail system(Audix), DTMF is not recognized unless you enter
the digits in VERY slowly.
I've been doing testing today and found that if I either set up a SIP
trunk (With jbenable=yes) or disable the jitter buffer on the iax trunk,
I can get a reliable reading from the G3R.
Is there anything that can be tweaked...

More voicemail cards needed...
...-- I have the flow, need a card if someone has one
I will work on getting these integrated with EVM. Users will be able to select via user prefs and admin on a per user setting of their preferred VM flow.
Final prompts are coming this week; need the cards for any additions.
I have the following: Audix, 3COM, IC IMail, NEC EliteMail LX, Nortel Call Pilot, Olle's, and a customized Octel. Feel free to send others that may be of interest.
Send all cards to: nt_jnewman at yahoo.com.

Asterisk connecting to a proprietry PBX
...now, I
think the quick (and dirty, and not very nice) solution is to set an
AbsoluteTimeout of 1 hour on the calls, as 95% of calls are less than
one hour and will ensure there are no hanged chans longer than 1 hour
in the system.
Another idea I had in mind is to, maybe, set the voicemail system
(Audix) to cut messages after X minutes. I don't know for sure if the
(Asterisk) caller is leaving a message or not, as most voicemail
systems have a message size limit and drop the call anyway. Strange,
huh?
Any suggestions? opinions? sympathizing words? :-)
Thanks in advance guys.
Cheers,
Gonzalo

Asterisk + Avaya (CM5.2) H.323 trunk Link
Anyone have an H.323 trunk tied between their Avaya and Asterisk box that
works? I am having some issues trying to get the two systems to connect. I
am using the ooh323 channel to try to make the connection between the two
system. I have all my configs if anyone would like to look over them. If I
do a trace on Avaya I get a denial event 1191: Network Failure.
Thanks!

First Post: Any existing AVAYA Switch -> Asterisk Voicemail configs?
This is my first post, so please feel free to direct me to another list
if needed.
I am in the early stages of researching Asterisk. I administer a small
Avaya Definity G3 switch (~400 users).
Can anyone point my to resources/documents/actual implementation notes
of using Asterisk's voicemail with an Avaya Definity switch?
Many thanks,
Brian Hudson

Voicemail to a commercial PBX/key phone system
Hello.
I've seen some mentions of asterisk possibly being used as an inexpensive
voicemail attachment to a commercial PBX etc.
Does anyone here, have experience of using it in this fashion ?
What commercial systems have been successfully attached too ?
How is the attachment made ?
Analog, digital ?
If anyone has successfully accomplished this, I would like to hear the make

Voicemail2
Asterisk Users:
I've been working hard on app_voicemail2 which is an enhanced scalability
version of app_voicemail. Specifically, its features are:
* Highly improved internal architecture (maybe someone else can
actually code on it)
* Foot print for getting mailboxes from DB (for Vonage)
* Segmentable mailboxes, allowing you to truly multihost
voicemail for multiple companies
