AD attibutes of the (in this case) member servers differences.
Hai,
Im setting up a new proxy with winbind en kerberos auth.
So far everything ok but now im setting up my nfsv4 (with automount with systemd) for my user login on that server.
For the new setup i compaired my old proxy with my new proxy.
I noticed the old proxy is missing some attibutes in the AD object.
For example,
Samba member1 ( installed as 4.3.x ) upgraded to 4.5.3 here

gstat package. "singular" attibute
Hello,
I'm using the gstat package within R for an automated procedure that
uses ordinary kriging.
I can see that there is a logical ("singular") atrtibute of some
adjusted model semivariograms:
.- attr(*, "singular")= logi TRUE
I cannot find documentation about the exact meaning and the implications
of this attribute, and I dont know anything about the inner calculations

Archive attibute bit management question
Hi,
I'm trying to use the archive attribute for backup purpose. All is ok
with own user management but not for the group.
The accounts user1 and backup are in the staffgroup. *The backup account
is not in the admin. group*.
It seems that the archive bit can't be changed with file write access
granted. This bit is mapped to the UNIX owner execute bit.
The create mask parameter is set

Meaning of user.DOSATTRIB
I have the following attributes for a typical file on my redirected folders
residing on my Samba4 AD/DC:
$ getfattr -d "Newletters/Newsletter 2013-09.docx"
# file: Newletters/Newsletter 2013-09.docx
user.DOSATTRIB=0sMHgyMAAAAwADAAAAEQAAACAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPnD7jBHStABAAAAAAAAAAA=
What do these characters mean? I'm searching for a particular attribute. I have

Meaning of user.DOSATTRIB
OK, thanks, I've seen such an attribute correlation list elsewhere. So what does
the 65 character string mean?
user.DOSATTRIB=0sMHgyMAAAAwADAAAAEQAAACAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPnD7jBHStABAAAAAAAAAAA=
Obviously this isn't a bunch of 0x1's and 0x2s bit fields (or are they?).
These attributes are from a file on the Redirected Folders directory hosted on
the Samba4 AD/DC. I

Fwd: Re: Ressources needed (cpus, ram, etc.) for a Samba server
I see, yes the unix attributes are set on the AD DC (RFC2307) for each
users and each groups.
And that's a question, because I am using a Windows Server 2012 R2 as AD DC.
Does the unix attibutes will be still available in the Windows Server
2019 version ?
I don't talk about the ADUC and how to set unix attributes tab, I ask
about the attributes on the AD schema
because I know that NIS

Samba Share - security considerations
Dear Samba Users,
I configured a samba share on a linux centos 7 server as server member
of an Active Directory Domain.
I used posix extended unix attributes in AD for permissions on the Samba
share.
Winbind and SSSD are also installed for the mapping of unix attibutes.
My question is more about security.
The linux server is using kerberos to dial with AD server (SSSD + Krb
pam etc.).

Winbind backend : rid is too much underappreciated
ah, ok, yes that was it.. ;-)
so for my understanding.
we use AD backend if we also want to use the RFC2307 extention (with winbind and schema_mode rfc2307)
and we can use RID if we want the windows user id with winbind.
and for RID we can use the server templete settings
and for AD can can set this per user seen the the Unix Attibutes tab in the windows tool
correct? (I still done

Meaning of user.DOSATTRIB
Hai,
This is al about samba ea ( extended attibutes ) support.
Samba can map attibutes in two ways:
Mapping DOS file attributes to UNIX permissions
Storing the DOS attributes in extended file attributes
The user.DOSATTRIB extended attribute contains a bit field indicating the state of each DOS attribute:
Read-Only = 0x1
Hidden = 0x2
System = 0x4
Archive = 0x20
and in smb.conf related

$(''myEl'').attibutes().length // == 3
2) is there any analogues of php functions var_dump() and print_r()
for Objects/Hashes and Arrays?

Losing custom attributes
Hi All,
I was adding a new row of data to my data frame using rbind(). I
was surprised to see that after adding new row, I lost my data frame level
attibute as well as col level attribute. Please help me to insert a new
row at frist or middle position so that my custom attribute is not lost.
Here is what I did.

weight<-c(40,42,30)

Whitelist file for LDAP authentication
Hi,
The dovecot version is 2.2.33.2 and we are using LDAP to do the authentication for SMTP service.
We have the following configuration in auth-ldap.conf.ext to deny some users for LDAP auth.
passdb {
args = /etc/dovecot/deny.smtp
driver = passwd-file
deny = yes
}
passdb {
args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-ldap.conf
driver = ldap
}
And now we want to change the mechanism and only users

Confusion supreme
I should add that in /var/lib/glusterd/vols/gv0/gv0-shd.vol and
in all other configs in /var/lib/glusterd/ on all three machines
the nodes are consistently named
client-2: zephyrosaurus
client-3: alvarezsaurus
client-4: nanosaurus
This is normal. It was the second time that a brick was removed,
so client-0 and client-1 are gone.
So the problem is the file attibutes themselves. And there I see
