After a quick look at this thread, yes, i suggest you add a new DC.
I also suggest you read :

Now you are joining a existing domain.
Line 20, the resolv.conf, set the first name server to you windows DC, the second to the internet.
Besides that, before you install samba do these checks.

Serverinfo Error
I finally got around to doing this and I'm getting python errors again.?
Using Debian Buster but Samba unstable which is version 4.9.11.? Here's
the error when I try to join the domain:
athena2:~# samba-tool domain join edm-inc.com DC -k yes
Finding a writeable DC for domain 'edm-inc.com'
Found DC ads1.edm-inc.com
workgroup is EDM
realm is edm-inc.com
