how to change classful netem loss probability?
Hi,
I am using netem to add loss and then adding another qdisc within netem

Leaky bucket in TC
Hi,
I am trying to control bandwidths of the connections by using TC with
HTB. But I want to implement Leaky Bucket on this structure so as to
have a straight flow.
Due to being new in this area, could anyone help me how I could do this?
Does TC support leaky bucket?
Best regards,

Lost my madwifi setup
...using dkms and the madwifi rpms from rpmforge.
My modprobe.conf has a line:
alias wifi0 ath_pci
I can ifconfig wifi0 up
But the command:
/usr/sbin/wpa_supplicant wpa_supplicant -dd -D madwifi -i wifi0 -c
/etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
fails.
Now some of my old notes mention using ath0 and a line in modprobe.conf of:
alias ath0 ath_pci
options ath_pci autocreate=sta
I think there were some iwconfig commands somewhere too. But it is all
gone....... sniff.
I hope someone can help? I am going through this list's archives trying
to find my old messages too.

dom1 is going to by my virtual firewall for all my virtual machines. So I

I''ve read the documentation a few times, and I keep g...

of wireless interface wifi0 but still I am unable to see any of the
notification icon in the gnome as I was used to in past for any of the NICs.
The error which I recieve upon logging into the gnome is:

Nasty ping with pattern '+++ATH0' - how to stop?
Hello!
Well-known thing is abusive use of ping abillity to fill out the ICMP
packet with '+++ATH0', which will cause hangup on 'bad' modems. The
defense, at the clinet side, is to add 'S2=255' to modem settings.
This 'technique' is used in irc wars, and other abusive attacks, and shell
providers have a lot of problems with that. There are two ways to forbid
users o...

Strange behaviour of Samba3 with wireless clients
...rver, get
prompted for a login then it just hangs and eventually times out.
The same clients, when using their LAN ports to connect to the same
server, are able to do everything--browse and access Samba shares. I
have experimented with the smb.conf file to include the wireless AP's
device (ath0), subnet and even allowing it to bind on all interfaces.
During those times, samba *does* bind on the device/device's IP when
doing 'netstat -tln'.
I have also checked my firewall settings. The rules I have for my local
LAN on eth1 is identical to ath0 so I don't see a problem t...

...p. So the box 1 has wifi in the blocking

packages lost. Ping from box 2 to box 1 does not has
this problem.
After we tracing the code, we noticed that the box try

blocking mode. This happens because the ath0 is
returned from the forwarding database. It's
implemented in __br_fdb_get(br, dest).

[Bridge] WDS STP weirdness
I am doing some testing of openwrt'd wireless access points, using
madwifi-ng'd atheros radios. In the test configuration, I have three
devices in a triangle, each has wds links to the other two devices.
The ath0 interface is in ap mode, ath1 is a wds link to one device,
and ath2 is a wds link to the other device. All three interfaces (and
an ethernet interface) are in a bridge (br-lan) with STP on. The
weird thing is that STP doesn't seem to ever block ports. The same
firmware is on all three device...

[Bridge] Wireless Bridge problems

router, it gets
NAT'd and goes out through ppp0. All traffic on all segments works
to reach the internet. Traffic cannot pass between the physical
bridge interfaces. eth1 cann...
