Can anyone suggest a package for creating and then emailing say 3 to 4 times a day reports of activity? Thanks. Dave.

fail2ban and secure permissions
Hello, Has anyone got fail2ban working and blocking ssh spambot atempts? My ssh is logging with a facility of authpriv which syslogd sends to /var/log/secure. That file has 600 permissions owned and group of root. I want to make it where fail2ban can access the needed file, yet not make it insecure in the process. I was not wanting to change permissions last time I di...

script..aculo.us - ajax not working with NTLM on windows
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this subject. I''m trying to implement an autocompleter input text (in asp, for the moment) using the script.aculo.us / prototype library. In IE (internetExplorer) it works fine. But in FF (fireFox) it keeps asking for my user/password on every atempt to reach the server from the AJAX call. The site is configures with integrated security and with no anonymous access (with anonymous access it works OK) in FF, in about:config I added my site to the network.negotiate-auth.trusted-uris list, so when I open my browser it does the NTLM stuff pre...

lme and confidence intervals
Hi all! After fitting a mixed effects model to repeated measurements data set, and after several unsuccessful atempts to make a simple plot of the confidence interval for the fitted model, I gave up and now I am asking for help in this useful list. Could anyone be so kind to give me some code lines in order to make a plot of the fitted equation and the correspondent confidence interval? Thanks in advance!! __...

Zplex-10 Dialing Issue
I'm hoping that someone else has seen this problem. Running CVS version from 03/08/03 20:00 T100P -> Zplex-10 All internal call routing seems to work fine. Atempts to make calls on the FXO interface fail. Asterisk picks up the correct number dialed but there seems to be a problem with the Zplex transmitting that number on the POTS line. All attempts to dial out fail with the LEC giving me a message that the number dialed is invalid or that I should or shou...

SIP One-way audio: == Forcing Marker bit, because SSRC has changed - trxtel.com
Dear list (and more specifically Bret), I am getting one-way (inbound only) audio when trying to place a SIP call via voip.trxtel.com (i.e. 18005558355@voip.trxtel.com). The Cli spits out "== Forcing Marker bit, because SSRC has changed" 5 times after atempting a native bridge. I realize this is most certainly a NAT issue, the * server is behind one. Sip.conf has externip=, and localnet=. Can someone explain what SSRC changing implies is going on, and why it affects NAT? This is actually the first NAT issue I have had with *, all other SIP calls have...

iptables to block region-specific ip's?
Hello, I'm running fail2ban on my centos machine. It's handling sshd and postfix, and is working quite well. From the reports I'm seeing all the atempts are from a certain registrar's region, I won't name it, and was wondering instead of blocking individual ip's if there was a way I could block with iptables the complete region of ip's. I realize this will cut off a good majority of the world, but this is something i'm still cu...

forcing log off
okay so i have the script provided by joel. i have changed them slitely so that each user gets his or her own file, because if two users try to log on at the same time, the script can't differentiate between atempts. so you get mixed lines. as in user1 starts with line1 but then user2 might have his first line right after. we wanted to be able to distinguish. now that we can see who is where, and what the process id is, what can we do with this.smbstatus was mentioned but i see nothing there that will let...

Quantile scores as dependent variables.. an R and general method question
I have a dataset that does not include native scores, but only serial quantile rankings for a set of units. Clearly these observations are dependent (in that you can't alter one observation without also altering others). Are there methods for dealing with quantile dependent variables. My atempt to find such methods has not bee successful. Any leads to theory, texts or R code would be most appeciated. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

samba centos and cups client errors
...have a CentOS 4.4 box acting as a print server with a cups backend and samba 3.2.4. I recently ran yum which updated both cups and cups-libs, but i do not think this is my problem. I've added windows drivers to the samba sharea and have in the past printed a test page to the printer. Now when i atempt to do this with a word document from a windows box, i am getting the error: client not authorized. It is showing me connecting to the print$ share as my user which have SePrintOperatorPrivilege, then i get the error from cups about the client not being authorized. Any help appreciated. Thanks. CDR feature not working properly for "failed call attempt"
...sk1.4.24.1). Whenever I make a call using a ?*.call? file and it gets failed , it don't produce the CDR for that channel as it falls into ?OutgoingSpoolFailed? channel As there is no such channel defined for ?OutgoingSpoolfailed?.. I am using this line in extension.conf for capturing the failed atempt: exten => failed,1,Set(CDR(userfield)=${HANGUPCAUSE}) I did a bit of googling and found that this problem is coming out with Asterisk1.14.24 and it was quite OK in 1.4.17. http://forums.digium.com/viewtopic.php?t=64832&highlight=outgoingspoolfailed It seems to be bug with this new relea...
