shutdown -r / shutdown -h / reboot all hang and don't cleanly dismount
...hich will reboot (ie;
they don't freeze like some do at the end) but they don't dismount
cleanly either and have to rebuild both GMIRROR and fsck. This might be
a different issue, too.
Anyone have any thoughts? Let me know if I can provide more details etc.

Time Clock Stops in FreeBSD 9.0 guest running under ESXi 5.0
...re adjusting the time at the same time.
I'm playing the waiting game now to see what this brings (again though I
am running NTPd and OpenVMTools on all the other VMs which have yet to
show this issue).
Anyone seen anything like this? Ring any bells?

home directory server performance issues
I?m looking for advice and considerations on how to optimally setup
and deploy an NFS-based home directory server. In particular: (1) how
to determine hardware requirements, and (2) how to best setup and
configure the server. We actually have a system in place, but the
performance is pretty bad---the users often experience a fair amount
of lag (1--5 seconds) when doing anything on their home
