''No module ata_generic found''
Can someone tell me the cause of and/or remedy for the ''No module ata_generic found'' error message during the mkinitrd stage? This is on a build from xen-unstable.hg pulled late yesterday. Also, FYI, I did do a ''make install'' and look in the /lib/modules/2.6.18.8-xen directory and no, I did not see an ata_generic module in there. [root@localhost

No ata_generic module found during initrd image creation
Hi all, I''m trying to install Xen. I''m compiling from source (3.1.3 ) on a FC8 system. Compilation completed with no errors. Now I''m trying to make the grub configuration and I need to create the initrd image. The command I use is the following: /sbin/mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.18-xen.img 2.6.18.8-xen It results to the following error: No module ata_generic found for

Volume group "VolGroup00" not found
Hi, I am compiling Xen from source on FC9. On booting the Xen dom0 kernel it gives the following error: Volume group "VolGroup00" not found and ultimately the error that switchroot: mount failed: No such file or directory So my question is that why it fails to detect logical volumes? Thanks, Abdul Qadeer _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list

Btrfs_truncate ?
Hi list This happened when running an iozone test over ceph, it was doing lots of random reads. I have no idea how to properly interpret this, I should find it out. what to do about [abrt] full crash report kernel taint?
I have a machine with a recent install of centos (2.6.32-220.2.1.el6.x86_64 kernel). It crashed 3 times this week, and sent emails like the one below complaining about kernel taint. I've gone back to a previous kernel to see if that helps, but otherwise I don't know how to investigate this. What should I do? Here's stuff from the log and one of the emails:

CPU soft lockup XEN 4.1rc
Hello, Similar to others I have freezeups on the system, it is consistent with high IO load. If the system runs (even with multiple) XenU it does not happen. But I can consistently force the situation to occur. Running 4 dd processes dumping 20GB each on a LVM/mdadm soft RAID5 volume it consistenly crashes in a DomU. Running without XEN I do not see the problem at all - (e.g. after about 3TB of

HVM bug: system crashes after offline online a vcpu
Hi Konrad I encountered a bug when trying to bring offline a cpu then online it again in HVM. As I''m not very familiar with HVM stuffs I cannot come up with a quick fix. The HVM DomU is configured with 4 vcpus. After booting into command prompt, I do following operations. # echo 0 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online # echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online With

HVM + IGD Graphics + 4GB RAM = Soft Lockup
I''m having an issue forwarding through an Intel on-board graphics adapter. This is on a Dell Optiplex 780 with 8GB of RAM. The pass-through works perfectly fine if I have 2GB of RAM assigned to the HVM domU. If I try to assign 3GB or 4GB of RAM, I get the following on the console: [ 41.222073] br0: port 2(vif1.0) entering forwarding state [ 41.269854] (cdrom_add_media_watch()
