Building Xen 4.4 rpms for centos7
Hello, Now that the Xen 4.4.1 rpms + libvirt 1.2.10 rpms for CentOS 6 seem to be in good shape it would be a good time to start experimenting with el7 builds aswell. I think it's best to start with the same set of packages we have for el6, and just do the minimum required changes to get them working on centos7. That probably means fixing some dependencies in the spec file, and some changes for systemd support. Note that all those changes are already do...

Puppet and internal modules...
...o for them :-) The main use I''m getting asked about is one touch deployment of our products by Dev teams... On the surface it shouldn''t be too hard, and I''ve already got a model in mind. However one of the considerations is making the Puppet code maintainable by Dev aswell as me in Ops/Implementation... Currently, I''ve got one model that does all our Puppet stuff, such as based configuring servers, installing oracle, installing monitoring, configuring databases, etc. I do hook in some common modules as and when needed. So i can either continue this model...

Hi, I''m looking for info about IFB devices and how I can use it to incomming traffic shapping. Has IFB any web about it? Do any body known where I can find more info about it? I found this: http://linux-net.osdl.org/index.php/IFB But I can''t stand fine how to use it to allow many ifb''s devices or how to use it with "tc actions". Any help? Thanks --

Wine 1.0 on Fedora 16 64-bit
Hello I am trying to install Oblivion on Fedora 16 64-bit but am having problems with the install sheild crashing. I have read that this is because of the 64 bit wine so I am trying to build an older version of wine from source. However I am having problems with this aswell. I suspect that this is because of the 64-bit OS aswell. the reason I say this is that it appears 'make' is still trying to use lib64, please see the last few lines of 'make': /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib64/libexif.so when searching for -lexif /usr/bin/ld: cannot fin...

thunderbird and email duplication
...reopen it, only newly received messages will show the funny behaviour. The emails are real file copies in the Maildir, I have checked that. Running Dovecot on Debian Etch: dovecot --version: 1.0.0 (this is Debian package 1:1.0.0-1~bpo.1 from backports. I have tried the main package from Debian aswell, same result) with qmail delivering the mails to a Maildir without Dovecot's LDA. Clients: Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 on WinXP over Wireless LAN (tried Thunderbird/Iceweasel on Debian aswell) Squirrelmail and KMail (both running on the same box as Dovecot) don't show that behaviour. Has anybod...

In the winamp window they get the message: [HTTP/1.0 200OK] http://www.feelthevibe . . . Any suggestions as to why my computer is fine and everyone else's doesn't work. Misc: handycam raw to ogg / DVD to ogg
Hi, I have two questions 1) How can I convert a raw miniDV file to ogg? I have made a continuation to the conference I organised two years ago on gravitational waves Astrophysics and Relativity and I have a lot of miniDVs to be converted to ogg. I think I have seen the information before but, after looking for some one hour, I have given up. And, by the way, do you know how to dowload the file

Static/Breaking up after I upgraded Asterisk aswell as a crash - Can't trace bug
...From: asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Paul Rodan Sent: Monday, January 10, 2005 11:58 AM To: 'Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion' Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Static/Breaking up after I upgraded Asterisk aswell as a crash - Can't trace bug We use Cisco 7960's with the P0S3-7-3-00 firmware, which was the latest as of a few months ago. I've so far found CVS-v1-0-10/26/04-07:28:01 to be the best version of Asterisk I've found. I've upgraded regularly in the past, like every other week...

Solution to smbldap-tools not adding sambaSAMAccount
...The problem was that I had defined an ou each for Computers and Users. ie dc=base,dc=org | ------ ou = Users | ------ ou = Computers Now the problem was that the nss_ldap library was searching in Users only, and apparently the samba server needs to be able to resolve the Computers tree aswell to add the sambaSAMAccount objectclass. Not wanting to have a mess of computer and user accounts in one tree, I added a ou for Computers under Users. So now it looks like dc=base,dc=org | ----- ou = Users | ------- ou = Computers After making that addition and changing the smb.conf en...

Metadata format.
Hi. Seeing as the topic appeared a while ago I was wondering: How do people feel about adopting ID3v2 for Vorbis aswell. This would, of course, mean it's given a stream of its own and even allow interleaving. It could be usefull, seeing as it would cut down on both initial development and software support, since a lot (most?) audio players already support it. It could also allow for code sharing on embedded devi...

Multiple filesystem costs? Directory sizes?
...? The reason I''m considering multiple filesystems is for instance easy ZFS backups and snapshots, but also tuning the recordsizes. Like storing lots of generic pictures from the web, smaller recordsizes may be appropriate to trim down the waste once the filesize surpasses the record size, aswell as using large recordsizes for video files on a seperate filesystem. Turning on and off compression and access times for performance reasons are another thing. Also, in this same message, I''d like to ask what sensible maximum directory sizes are. As in amount of files. Thanks. This m...

"Infinite" wav files
Okay, before I submit my patch to make libao produce sorta-streamable wav files, I want to know what these partial wav files do to various players. I've posted two sample wav files on my webserver: http://volsung.dhcp.asu.edu/~stan/infinite.wav http://volsung.dhcp.asu.edu/~stan/zero.wav The first uses a riff and data length of 0xFFFFFFFF (approximately infinite) and second uses a riff and

CentOS 6 Xen 4.4.1 packages available on virt6-testing / libvirt blktap2 problems
...d type in libvirt, and one patch to fix the blktap2 backend type in virt-install or virt-manager, i'm not totally sure which one it was. Those patches should be included in the earlier libvirt source rpms, so we can check there. Or I can search thru my emails, because I hunted that down earlier aswell. It seems we still need those patches with the latest libvirt rpms too. The actual problem is libvirt/virt-manager tries to configure tap:aio: backend, which won't work. It needs to be tap2:aio. I get the exactly same behaviour with xm/xend. "tap:aio" stalls and fails. "tap2:a...
