Re: [Serusers] ASTERISK+SER+MWI
What's wrong with ARA (asterisk realtime architecture) from voip-info: Asterisk, SER and MWI http://mail.iptel.org/pipermail/serusers/2004-December/013727.html Actually I wrote a patch for this and it supports ast_data too. What you do is tell asterisk that all of your phones IP addresses are your SER machine. Then when a message gets left Asterisk sends the NOTIFY to username at seripaddress:serport. SER gets it and since it knows what's up, it relays it to the phone. Tada! I gave my patch to Rob (who leads...

ast_data, mysql, md5 hashes for passwords
I have asterisk (CVS 7.06.2004) with newest ast_data. My sip-users are in a MySQL database. Is there a possibility to store the passwords (column secret) as md5 hashes? In that way that asterisk takes the password from a client which want to log in, do a md5 hash and compare that with the one in the database? I don't want them plain text in the d...

No debugging informations on the CLI after patching with ast_data 1.0.2
Hi to everybody, I have the problem that nearly no information are displayed on the Asterisk CLI (asterisk -r). In former times (before patching Asterisk 1.0.2 with ast_data 1.0.2) it looks e.g. like this: --- snip --- -- Registered '96' (AUTHENTICATED) at 212.202.169.118:4569 -- Accepting AUTHENTICATED call from 212.202.169.118, requested format = 1024, actual format = 1024 -- Executing Macro("IAX2/96@96/2", "echo") in new s...

Dynamic SIP.CONF
Hey All, We are looking to expand our usage of Asterisk and I am trying to make as much of the configuration dynamic as I possibly can. The only part that I'm having problems with is sip.conf. I can get asterisk to register each extension with our local SER SIP proxy dynamically by using the "sipfriends" table in the database, but I'm having trouble with the message waiting

cvs stable with db support in extensions.conf
Hi, I use cvs stable version. I'd like to add database support on extensions.conf. Other config files into db would be a big bonus. Looking through the wiki, there are several ways... but not sure which one is the best or widely used and supported... ast_data and res_config seem to be the best candidates. I read it many times and my impression is that ast_data seems to be better. But can't find a patch for latest cvs stable. Any suggestion? Thanks, Richard

LDAP synchronization script
Hello, I understand there's no possibility to have asterisk configuration (sipusers, extensions, voicemail) in LDAP right now. I'm thinking about put the (sipusers, extensions, voicemail) info in LDAP and then run some synchronization script on the asterisk server which will build up appropriate configuration files and reload asterisk. I'm sure this script is already around. Can some

MWI - Config Stupidity or Notify Issues?
I am having a problem with the message waiting indicator. We are currently using the ast_data modules for both our sip configuration and our voicemail configuration. In the mailbox field I have tried using both mailboxnumber@context and simply mailboxnumber. Yet so far I am still not getting a MWI on my 7905's or on my 7960's. My assumption would be that I am still missing someth...

Problem with IAX2 Unregistered in the chan_iax2.c and data_pgsql.c file
Hi everyone, IAX2 softphone is not working with the “Unregistered” part in the asterisk (chan_iax2.c and data_pgsql.c) But with the Xlite softphone the unregistered worked properly and ast_data properly updated the IP address and port number in the database. I have seen some codes in the chan_iax2.c file: “ast_verbose(VERBOSE_PREFIX_3 "Unregistered '%s' (%s)\n", p->name, iaxs[callno]->state & IAX_STATE_AUTHENTICATED ? "AUTHENTICATED" : "...

Is no one using MySQL on stable asterisk?
I'm still (doggedly) trying to get asterisk to read my voicemail configuration from MySQL. I'm using the stable release of Asterisk, from back in December, before realtime was included. If anyone has got it to work, please contact me ... I've posted details, but everyone who's responded so far has been working with the newer version that uses realtime. Unfortunately, this is
