CentOs 5.6 and Time Sync
Hi, I have upgraded my Dell C151 to the latest 5.6. I have always used ntp to sync this machine and then the rest of the machines in the network would sync from it. Since the update I cannot keep the right time on the machine. This is with / without ntp. I have attempted various scenario's with no luck. I am now trying the old kernel now as I type this out. If anyone else has any

Help with graphing impulse response functions
Dear colleagues/contributors, I'd be pleased if someone could provide insights on how to plot impulse response functions in a format that can easily be copied in a word document just as plotting time-series of variables. I had followed the outline suggested by Benhard Pfaff [see http://127.0.0.1:17693/library/vars/html/irf.html] but I am unable to get the impulse response functions in a

ntpd under Xen Dom0 exhibits extremely high jitter/noise? runs stable/quiet under non-xen kernel.
On a selection of boxes, ntpd running in Xen Dom0 reproducibly exhibits extermely high noise/jitter. Switching back to -default, non-xen kernel ntpd runs with very low jitter/noise. Question -- how can I ''tame'' ntpd noise & jitter when running in Dom0? Is the problem a config issue, or a bug? Already reported this downstream; everybody''s "stumped".

Windows 98 caching too much
Hi, We have an old Win98 box at work that is used for programming GALs and EEPROMs, however we find that if the file is modified on the Unix side the Win98 box doesn't notice. This is rather annoying when you are iterating a design as you can imagine! One work around is to open a DOS box and 'type' the file - this seems to force it to re-get the file. Does anyone have any

Changing ownership of a file or folder from within windows?
