[Hardware] Good Server I/O on-the-cheap: ASL Monarch 811x with CentOS 4.2 ...
...ed runs just a little over $2K. Not really much more
than an equivalent "self-assembled desktop" you might be able to put
together, while being a heck of a lot better in interconnect
configuration and resulting server performance.

Intel G965 chipset + ICH8
Hello everyone !
I will buy a new PC for CentOS 5.0.
I install Linux on PC for the first time.
I do not have the skill of it.
Here are my candidates of mabo :
Intel DG965WH
Intel DG965YCK
Intel DG965WHMKR
ASUS P5B-V
All mabos have Intel G965 chipset + ICH8
Did anyone succeed to install CentOS 5.0 on these mabos, and to set
up network configuration ?

Centos for entry level server : Motherboard?
I've been burned by Sata not working on an Asus motherboard (nVidia / nForce)
and need to select something that will work for a fairly light duty
web/mail/sql server. How do I go about finding out if a specific motherboard
will work with sata software raid and Centos 4.4 (or 5.x when it's settled
down).

CentOS and Dell Support
