OggPCM proposal feedback
Dear Arc, I feel ashamed of the xiph community. I was always one standing up for the open audio-visual codecs and applications that were developed here and I felt part of that community by contributing. There have been an enormous number of people contributing to xiph specifications and software over the years. Your emails have been an insult to every contributor to xiph that is not in the

...ware and Open Source projects are meritocracies. Certain people get to positions of power in these projects through a combination of good coding/ debugging/documentation and simultaneously an ability to work well with the other people in the project. Here in the Xiph community things are a little askew. The people with the code (Monty, Jean-Marc, Josh Coalson etc and the Annodex team) seem to let Arc (who has yet to show any contribution anywhere near the same league as any of the above) run the show and trammple over people who show far more merit. I don't care so much about me, I haven'...

If either or both of the latter two copies take dramatically longer than the first, then there's a good chance something is askew with the network config between C6 and C7. Oh... all this time I've been jumping to fancy tests. Have you tried the simplest form of testing, that is, doing by hand what your scripts do automatically? In other words, simply try copying files between C6 and C7 using the existing NFS config?...

Ferret not able to read a Lucene Index?
Hi all, Having problems trying to get Ferret to read an index generated by Lucene. Am I right in thinking Ferret should be able to read a Lucene generated index no problem? Using the code snippets detailed in http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/64099#new Any advice gratefully received. Many Thanks, Steven -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

But if the load tends to spike, rather than be continuous, the sar sampling rate may be too coarse to pick it up. > And again, this is only at this site. Asterisk 1.2.4 IAX2 New Jitterbuffer Tuning
I was using G729 with Asterisk 1.07. With the new ability to do packet loss correction with ILBC, I felt I'd give it a try. The new PLC does not work with G729. I don't use Speex because my softphone does not support it. This is a 1.5mb IP-VPN connection with prioritized QOS for port 4569 (IAX2). I've never really stressed the bandwidth. Typically, only 10-20 concurrent calls.

read.table not clearing colClasses
I am attempting to created colClasses for several tables, then read only specific columns. There are two different table layouts that I am working with. If I use exclusively one layout, the script works perfectly, but if I mix the layouts, it fails to grab the correct columns form layout that is read in second. It appears that colClasses fails to adopt the new structure after the first iteration.

net rpc vampire, profiles, SIDs oh my!
Ok. I am trying to "net rpc vampire" from my current AD domain into a ldapsam password backend so I can get the user SID to preserve profiles. I am aware that HKEY_USERS holds that SID as well. In my test environment, the SID for userA in the AD domain when taken from HKEY_USERS and put into userA's ldap entry as sambaSID preserves the profile correctly, also the last digits of

Using parameters in lpq command conflicts with background lpq
I have an application than makes use of the "lpq command" and uses the %U parameter in the command string. The application returns a personalized queue list based on the value of %U. This technique worked well in older versions of Samba (circa RedHat 8), but I have run into some trouble with Samba 3. The issue appears to be twofold. 1) The lpq command is now run from the
