Classification
Hi all,
I have got a dataset like the following:

i.e. random numbers with some repeats.
I want R to classify them for me. E.g. every row that has a value of 3 will
be asigned a value of 1, and every row that has a value will be asigned a
value of 2 etc.
I want R to return the following, using the example above:

asigning values to atributies when source is nil
I want to use something similar to the following:
@total_price += { product.price <> nil ? product.price : 0.0 }
This fails in rails with a "nil can''t be coerced into Float" error.
What is the (most) correct way to do this?

Design matrix not identity
Hello again,
I was too quick before. What I was looking for was a function that
constructs the design (or incidence) matrix (X in a linear model) from a
factor. Uwe Ligges suggested using model.matrix and this does almost what I
want, but it is first necessary to construct a data variable. It also asigns
ones to all rows of the first column (because this is set to be the
contrast, not really what I want - see below). Maybe time for a function
that just converts a factor into a design matrix?
I have a factor
factor<-as.factor(c(1,1,2,2,3,3,3))
and I want a matrix

level assignment
Hi,
i would like recocde some numeric variables in one
step, but hanging unexpected in a level asignment problem?
for(i in 2:length(msegmente))
{ msegmente[,i] <- as.factor(msegmente[,i])
}
Problem is that not every level is in every variable, so the
asignment is necessary!?

Asterisk to make multiple extensions simultaneous calls on a single telephone line
Hi Lists,
I have one box with two FXO and two FXS ports, it is running asterisk
inside. I have one sinle POTS line connected to the one FXO and two
phone sets connected to the FXS port.
Extension 6003 is asigned to one fxs and 6004 is asigned to another
fxs, the two extensions can call each other, they can both
make/receive PSTN call, but they can't make PSTN call simultaneously.
Is it achievble in Asterisk to let them make PSTN call
simulataneously through one sinle POTS line?
I don't know an...

I want to order the matrix from bigest Z (1110) to lower Z (14).
Then I want to asign a color scale vector from blue ( bigest Z) to
orange (lower Z), and then I want to make a plot with the X vs.Y
coordinates of the matrix, with the number correspondent to Z in every
point, each number coloured with the assigned colour scale colour.
Is this doable?????

ntwork problem
I switched my file server's hard disks from a p-2 350 to a p-3
deley 1.1 ghz. I ran kudzu and it detected the new nic and
unconfigured the old one. I may have messed up the static ip
assignment because hte system is not able to do anything on the
network. How do i check the ipaddress asignment and also ensure
the proper linksys LNE-100TX driver is loaded?

increasing the size of the journal data file
Hi all
I'm running succesfully 2.2.19pre13ext3
as mentioned in the subject line, I would like to increase the journal file
I have the jfs/* and ext3/* files and I believe that:
+ asigning a new journal (-o journal=[new inode or increased inode]) data can solve it
+ increasing the actual file _appending zeroes_ to it can be used to increase
it online, however the new space will not be used _until next mount_
am I right?

School cloud solution
...his really isn't a CentOS specific queation but that is our server OS of choice.
I manage a student file server and i would like to add cloud access to it. Basically i would like our students to have access to the same files at home that they have at school. This would allow them to start an asignment at home, finish it at school, and print it off without having to worry about losing their usb drive. I want it housed on our servers for backups and ease of access for our teachers when necessary.

Network Name issue
Hi,
I've installed CentOS 5 on a Dell pe1950 with 2 dual port NICS.
One of the NIC is an Intel and use the e1000 module.
The problem is when the server is rebooted it does no asign the ethx name to the NICs, instead the so assign something like _dev377362...
so i dont have networking on the server.
Any ideas what is happening and how to solve it?

better nested set and parent_id
...l with better_nested_set. In my "new" form, i pass the
desired parent_id as a hidden field, and in the create action at the
controller i save the new register and use move_to_child_of Model
(params[item][parent_id])
Everything works, but at my log file it warns that i can''t mass asign
the property "parent_id".
What can i do to avoid the warning?
