Write XML according to ggobi DTD
Hi, Has anyone out there written a function to take a data.frame as input and generate XML that conforms to the DTD for ggobi ("ggobi.dtd")? In other words, like a simple version of the writeSDML function in the StatDataML package, but using ggobi.dtd instead of StatDataML.dtd. It looks easy to write such a function to handle data.frames with only numeric data, but a bit of work with

ANNOUNCE: Unplanning network maintenance/outage
Good morning, GnuCashers, Some (many?) of you may have noticed the outage of 'code.gnucash.org' starting with a lot of packet loss on Thursday and escalating into a complete outage by Friday. This took out our Subversion, Wiki, Email List, everything server. Well, as of 2:15pm US/EDT on Saturday (yesterday) everything should be back to normal and operational. If you don't want to

Action Mailer throwing underscores on template name
I''ve recently run into a problem with one of my applications that refuses to send emails using ActionMailer. Looking at the log, it become obvious what''s happening, the system is looking for templates with underscores at the end. Notice the exception_notification_ . For example: ActionView::ActionViewError (No rhtml, rxml, rjs or delegate template found for

File transfer speed issue
Hi all, I have aproblem with Samba copying (unfortunatly I'm new to samba so my skills are fairly limited). I have a sun box (solaris 8) with samba 2.2.2. Copying from sun to a nt server is fast (as good as you would expect) however, copying from the nt server to the sun box is slow (files copy normally, then slow to a complete halt then copy very slowly). We cannot see anything on a

Windows ME Logon scripts
I cannot seem to execute any logon %U.bat scripts. It see's them because I get a black box screen and a message 'running logon scripts'. If the user.bat file does not exist it simply skips this step. So I know it sees my bat files. If I execute it from the windows ME pc after the pc is booted up it works. The bat file is as follows: rem Network logon script net use h: \\win\homes

Framebuffer double buffering (via FBIOPAN_DISPLAY)
Oops, the FBIOPAN_DISPLAY ioctl error was a stupid mistake on mistake on my part.? Thanks for the info on where the validation code was.? Comparing against that made it easy to find the mistake.? It's working now, well...where I have been able to get over-allocation working!? Thanks for the help.? If I can't get the over-allocation to work on my other systems, I'll take it up in

system slowdown - vnode related
I woke up to a frozen box this morning - it froze up a few more times before I got a handle on it. Basically, the box runs idle but refuses to do disk IO, or does it -very- slowly. Top shows processes stuck in 'ffsvget', 'inode', and 'vlruwk' state. I can get the box responsive again by setting sysctl kern.maxvnods=100000. It starts up with kern.maxnodes=36079. I

Framebuffer double buffering (via FBIOPAN_DISPLAY)
Well...it's been a bit of a mixed bag.? Setting drm_kms_helper.drm_fbdev_overalloc=200 set the vinfo.yres_virtual to 2160 as opposed to 1080 (My monitor vertical resolution)? This fixed the mmap() problem.? However, it only worked on my main workstation.? My laptop running Intel graphics wasn't affected by the change in kernel cmdline.? My workstation is a custom build from a few

period of time (hours up to weeks sometimes), and then 'certain' pc's would no longer be able to connect to samba, but other pc's would still be working. And the pc's affected are not the same each time. this might be the case if what is REALLY going on is that the pc's that are STILL working never lost their connection to SAMBA/iX, so they already(still) have a working

the files when you attempt to rename it. This is caused by Window's Media Player loading the file when you click on it. To work around this I had to go into Windows Explorer and change the folder options from "Enable Web Contents in Folders" to "Use Windows Classic Folders". This way, Windows Media player won't load the file when you click on it. Just trying to save
