OT: DS3 -> VoIP Hardware Recommendations
Hello all,
We are looking for some hardware requirements/recommendations to be
able to handle a full DS3's worth of TDM -> VoIP traffic. The DS3 would
bring 24 calls per T1 x 28 T1s = 672 simultaneous calls. We would then
need to convert those calls into G729 SIP VoIP calls to send to our
asterisk box over ethernet. Since everything is going in/out of asterisk
is 729, and no features

OT: Lucent, Cisco, DS3 and SS7
...s just wishful thinking. But now
it has become a real need.
Our boss has a 5 year grudge against Lucent. They had a Lucent here that
would simply stop processing calls. No alarms. No nothing. I'm sure that
in 5 years, new software has been released.
I've got another guy running several AS5400HPX's telling me that you can
only do about 20T1's in it without maxing out the CPU.
I'm looking for real world people to contact me off list who are using
either:
A: Lucent equipment
B: Cisco equipment
and are doing the following translation:
Incomming DS3 (with SS7) -> SIP (G7...

Cisco AS5400 Configuration as a SIP Peer - URGENT

scalability, so the Asterisk server itself does no transcoding or DSP.
We have noloaded all codecs except one and moved any of the
resource-intensive activities to the gateway and the support servers.
Our production setup will replace the Asterisk TDM-VoIP gateway with a
Cisco AS5400HPX Universal Gateway. MCI has an AS5400 waiting for us at
the D-Lab, and while they are familiar with most aspects of it, they
lack any experience configuring it as a SIP peer for Asterisk. If

Cisco AS5XXX to asterisk debugging.
Hi,
I have a serious problem to configure Cisco AS5XXX and Asterisk ,
I trying to use asterisk for
PSTN(A)----> Cisco AS5xxx ----> ASterisk---->PSTN(B)
(No Nat, no Firewall)
I hear (on the PSTN(A)) clearly what the other person is saying, but the
other person (on the PSTN(B) side) hears nothing from PSTN(A).
