AS2.1 lock problem due to ext3?
Hi,
I installed AS2.1 kernel 2.4.9-e.16 and Emulex driver v4.21g to connect
Fujitsu raid through FC(fiber channel) cable.
I met the lock problem by the follwoing operations:
fdisk /dev/sdbX
e2mkfs -j /dev/sdbX
mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/raid/X
// run 16 sample programs for each mount point
// pulled the FC cable and then some jobs abended.
// 1 or 2 jobs were still running.

1.0.12-2 for IA64 Redhat AS2.1 e.43
We are pleased to announce the release of OCFS 1.0.12-2 for IA64 Redhat
AS2.1 e.43 kernel.
Due to Kernel ABI incompatibility between < e.43 and e.43, 1.0.12-1 does
not load on e.43. It errors out with a list of missing symbols.
The rpms can be downloaded from
http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs/files/RedHat/RHAS2.1/ia64/
Click on 1.0.12-2.
Other than a build with the newer kernel, there are

**££!!*** Proliant!
This Proliant (ml330 G3) has an HP CSB-6 (LSI/Megaraid) disk controller that
isn't recognised by the installer.
A quick search on Google reveals drivers from RH7 - AS2.1 but nothing for 3
or 4 unless anyone knows different!? If not I'll just have to disable it and
install a supported RAID card.
Anyone!?

Menu.c32 hangs when localboot 0
Hello all,
I am trying to setup a menu to boot into various windows/linux options and also local boot using pxe.
The following is the menu I am using. I tested various options and all worked fine except the localboot.
If I choose localboot option the menu leads to pxe of the second nic on the system and then hangs.
Anyone has a clue what's happening. Any help would be appreciated

Samba 3beta2/3 with ldapsam as PDC dont advice itself
Hi,
i have a problem with samba3 (with ldapsam).
I've set up my samba3 beta2 (also tried beta3) as a pdc, but it seems that
samba does not anounce it's DOMAIN correctly. I don't see my JOCHENGROUP
Domain from any Windows-Workstation.
I can search for the name of my PDC using the 'Search Computer' Function
and Windows will find it. I can doubleclick the PDC and login using

Cannot rename file
Hi
I've upgraded my OS from Redhat AS2.1 to Redhat AS4. The samba upgraded
from samba-2.2.7-3.21as to samba-3.0.10-1.4E.9.
I use this only to see the Linux filesystem as a drive on my PC. The
problem is that I cannot rename a file. Put, Get and Copy works fine.
The error I get (after about 30 sec) is any of the following (no
specific pattern):

configure issue (PR#9379)
Full_Name: Gordon Lack
Version: 2.4.0
OS: Redhat Linux AS2.1
Submission from: (NULL) (198.28.92.5)
Not sure whether this is a configure issue or an R one.
It's only a minor issue, so this is really just FYI.
The code in configure checks for the version of makeinfo by splitting the
version string into a major and minor component. The tests on these assume they
are numeric.

When I was trying to compile R-1.9.1 from source, I've got problems which seemed related to compiling the LAPACK package.
The error message is as follows:

Another question.
When my database is running, I do
[oracle@LNCSTRTLDB03 LPTE3]$ cp --o_direct xdb01.dbf /tmp
cp: cannot open `xdb01.dbf' for reading: Permission denied
[oracle@LNCSTRTLDB03 LPTE3]$
When the database is shudown it works.
Is this normal for ocfs because with any other filesystem I can just
copy a file at any time (Its only a testing, I know I cant copy

Disappointing Performance Using 9i RAC with OCFS on Linux
Wim,
Thanks for your prompt response on this. The tpmC figures look very
impressive, and tpmC is read intensive.
I had already read note 236679.1 "Comparing Performance Between RAW IO
vs OCFS vs EXT2/3" which I guess is the article to which you are
referring; it made me suspect that the poor performance was due to the
lack of an OS IO cache but I wasn't sure.
The database is
