Any idea how making Asterisk "transparent"?
Hello!
I am using Asterisk as transparent voice recorder for calls (isdn <->
asterisk <-> pbx). Voice recording (therefore voice forwarding) is
working great but seems that Asterisk does not route/bridge/forward
D-Channel messages which means PBX cannot get time synchronization
answer from provider and tarification impulse too. With direct
connection PBX works great and use both

NTP server problem behind firewall
Hello!
I would like to setup an NTP server for my Windows network using
CentOS 6.3 with firewall turned on. As I learned the NTP protocol uses
port 123 UDP. I have two NIC cards. One for internal network and one
for access internet. Both cards in private address range. The problem
is when I am using firewall described below the client cannot access
the server. No idea why. Without firewall

'h' extension on call-out
Hello!
I would like to store ISDNCAUSE on automatic call-out campaign
(possibly gives more detail on failed call). How is it possible?
I have tried 'failed' and 'h' extension. No luck. Extension 'failed'
does not know anything about ISDNCAUSE and 'h' extension is not called
at all. Any idea?
I am using Asterisk 1.2.14 on FC4 if it counts.

wellgate FXO unit
Anyone know how to set the wellgate unit so incoming calls
pass on directly to asterisk?
Right now incoming calls ring twice and I hear a recording saying enter
the extension. If I go enter the extension it goes on to asterisk just fine.
I just want the incoming call to go directly onto asterisk.
Anyone found that out?

Asterisk 1.6 mysql cdr log problem
Hi all!
I've installed a new Asterisk 1.6.0.1 with addons and dahdi drivers
and tools but my calls aren't logged. I'd enabled mysql log and
noticed that asterisk send a 'DESC cdr' so connection is working
between asterisk and mysql and I am able to call other phones so
Asterisk is working as well. No error messages on startup though.
Any idea why is it happen? As I realized

Calling id problem on outgoing call
Hi all!
On outgoing call sometimes Asterisk use/give back the caller id sent back by
called number instead of number called by me. This is annoying and
misleading statistics if other side use some exotic number. For example I
have called number 12345678 and CDR include the number 333 as callerid which
was sent back by called number/set/switch/whatever. Normally it cannot be an
issue but I have

changing group ownership of files
We are testing samba and are not sure if it is possible to change the
group ownership on a file from the NT permissions dialog. The
permissions box shows 3 ACL's, one for UNIX owner/group/other. However,
we can't seem to change the group ACL to a different group. Removing
the group ACL and Adding a new group ACL for a different group does not
work. Is the group ownership only

gps tags in vorbis comments
hi,
is there an official or semiofficial way to store gps location in vorbis
comments or any ogg file. mp4 and exif store at least:
- location name (e.g. London, UK)
- longitude (degree as double), latitude (degree as double), elevation
(meters) (these three according to WGS84)

domain logons across subnets
hi,
I tried to make a win95 machine to perform a domain-logon to
an NT server, which is in a diferent subnet, behind a linux-router.
on this linux-router, I also installed samba.
I noticed in log.nmbd, that the client always queries for
a "0x1c" type, but never gets a response from nmbd.
Thus , I "hacked" the "wins.dat" file, and restartet nmbd:

I'd suggest at some point to look into separate stream solution for
metadata, perhaps M3F [1].

What I would like to do the following setup:

2. Asterisk as external IVR on extension 9xxx connected with ISDN (Q.931) PRI
The incoming calling route:
1. OXE handles incoming calls, answer
2. Transfer to extension 9xxx
3. Asterisk answer (using one channel)
4. IVR is handling calls

PBX-VPN-SIP-Asterisk trouble

I have the following setup:

There is 2 pieces of Welltech 3802 (2 port FXO) connected to 4 (2x2)
PBX extensions. Asterisk is a proxy here. Each device successfully
register itself. I tried the setup above with Linksys and Welltech
devices as well.

Ups! Maybe it's time somebody corrected that statement then - the wiki seems

Ogg bitwise.c bit tracking
Hi,
it seems Ogg keeps track of a packet's size at the byte level, rather than
at the bit level (eg, if I encode a packet with just one bit, decode will
think there are 8 bits available). Am I right ?
Not that it's a particularly important issue, since remaining bits will
probably be initialized, but I noticed this while adding some calls to
oggpack_look1 at the end of my decode routines
