...yet it is an
enormous task. Usually, the Fortran routines are used externally in other
computation and I/O is done through other and more efficient layers.
I hope your proposal will be accepted and I'm looking forward to seeing the
result of your work.
Cheers,

Focusing on less should also improve my productivity and lead to a better
summer of code project by drastically reducing the pressure :)

Are expression parsing and AST implemented? What about type representation?

[LLVMdev] [GSoC] Flang's end of GSoC report
Hi everyone!
Today is the official "pencils down" day for GSoC and I wrote a report
describing what results I've achieved since my last report in July:
http://flang-gsoc.blogspot.ie/2013/09/end-of-gsoc-report.html
Thanks for this GSoC LLVM!

...tory here: https://github.com/hyp/flang
So far I've enjoyed working on flang, and I would like to apply to GSoC
with it. I will start writing a proposal in the next couple of days. Should
I send it to the mailing list first, or should I send it directly to GSoC?
Thanks.

...utility functions. There was a lot of work for type representation as well,
but there's still some stuff to do in that area, especially for records,
arrays and various constraint checks.

[LLVMdev] RFC: Machine Level IR text-based serialization format
...unusual YAML.
Also, you're thinking of YAMLIO which is a layer on top of the YAML parser
(YAMLParser.{h,cpp}). It might make sense to not use YAMLIO (it is good for
some types of data, not for all) but still use the YAML parser.

will be handled by the YAML parser automatically, and I might extend it to
provide better/more specific error messages. And I think that it's possible
to use the machine verifier to catch the other errors that you've mentioned.
