multiple imap servers for high availability
Hello,
We run imap for our domain at our lan.
I'd like to set up a backup mirror that has imap storage always
duplicated. Then using something like heartbeat to share the imapd IP
address .
Could someone point me to documents , if any , that give ideas on how to
set up the mirror?
best regards, Rob

System crash on loading gdm revisited
...with the CentOS kernel source
and am now seeing these crashes.
Can someone point me to the specific patch that fixes
this problem? I'd like to confirm that it's part of
my source before looking at other things.
Thanks,
Debbie

Changing kernel params in CentOS 4.2
...t, in your opinion does changing the kernel rev greatly change the name
of what you're running? If we go to say the 2.6.16 kernel on our CentOS 4.2
system, is it still valid to call it CentOS 4.2?
Thanks for any assistance,
Debbie

Calling All FS Fanatics
Now that I've been enlightened to the terrible write performance of ext3 on my
new 3Ware RAID 5 array, I'm stuck choosing an alternative filesystem. I
benchmarked XFS, JFS, ReiserFS and ext3 and they came back in that order from
best to worst performer.
I'm leaning towards XFS because of performance and because centosplus makes
kernel modules available for the stock kernel.

2.2.32 'doveadm replicator replicate -f' segfault
Very minor bug; not specifying the user mask with 'doveadm replicator

Reviving an old thread: "requiring client certificates for external connections"
Hi folks - reviving an old thread from 2010:
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2010-December/055837.html
We're basically looking to do the same thing: require client
certificates for external connections, while preserving certificate-less
username/password authentication for internal connections.
Any tips on the best way to accomplish this?

'doveadm replicator remove' only temporary?
Hi folks,
Wondering if this is expected behavior; we'd like to be able to pause
replication for a particular account on our 2.2.32 active-active
cluster, but delivering a message (LMTP) to the account seems to turn
replication back on again:
(replication on)

iPhone/iPad IMAP connection bursts causes user+IP exceeded
Apologies for bumping Joseph Tam's rather old thread, but I'm wondering
if anyone has come up with a workaround/fix for this problem that iOS
Mail.app clients (10.3.3, 11.0.3, 11.1?) continue to exhibit?

Duplicating directory list: Samba, DFS, and XP
Samba 3.3.3
I've seen some relevant posts, but no answers.
Users on XP32 boxes will see duplicating directories inside of each
other when accessing a samba share through dfs. Not sure how to
recreate, but it happens regularly.
Problem does not occur when accessing share directly. Performance
does not seem affected. A reboot of XP will resolve the issue.
Thanks.

Loggin of authorized keys
This is a follow-up on a thread from last year requesting that openssh
indicate which authorized key was accepted during a login as opposed to
just logging that a key was accepted...
Here's the old message:
It is possible for ~user/.ssh/authorized_keys to have multiple

Samba share and --ghost'ed automount hierarchy
Howdy folks - I have an automount hierarchy "/data", with 30 or so mounts
defined across various hosts on my network. A few of these mountpoints
are temporarily off-line, but still appear under /data, due to the --ghost
option.
When I try to access the top level \\server\data from a Windows client,
the directory listing in Explorer never returns because smbd is trying to

samba upgrade, now macs can't connect
machine A: samba server, upgraded from 3.0.7 to 3.0.22.
solaris 9.
machine B: samba client, on powermac G4, OS 10.4 (i believe).
i think samba is 3.0.10.
after the upgrade of the samba server (A), machine B cannot
get onto A. it keeps saying the password is wrong.
i've tried tons of stuff. the keychain has been reset. the
client has been rebooted. the server has had samba restarted.

a windows PC did get access.
