having problems with Argon
...s it came from a Postfix restriction but having spent quite a while going through it today, I don't think that's where it lies. Finally I went back to basics and changed an account password to {PLAIN}12345 and what do you know - effortless success! Previously I'd been using mainly argon, ssha512 sha512-crypt and a few others. My passwords are strong (well in excess of 20 characters, 'randomly' generated). I spent this afternoon narrowing down the hashes and while I haven't finished, the only one I couldn't get to work with 12345 was argon. I also noticed tha...

SSL and url_for
Hey, all! I''m having a url problem that seems like I''m going to overcomplicate it if I don''t just ask what I''m doing wrong... My situation is that I''m testing to see if a visitor is accessing a controller via SSL, and if not, redirect to the same controller via my secure address. This really only amounts to replacing http with https, and so I did the

Slow perl on CentOS - ActivePerl as a solution
...on instead (RPMs are available). ActivePerl 5.8 is approximately 73x faster that CentOS version and ActivePerl 5.10 even slightly faster. Both versions and all installed packages (GUI ppm) work flawlessly and at least for me it is the way how to survive until CentOS 5.3 will be released. Handling errors - incorrect value entered in url...
I have many "edit" actions in my project. If the url is like http://localhost/project/3/edit and someone enters http://localhost/project/3333333/edit the edit action will fails because it cannot find a project with id of 3333333. To combat this I am adding to every action like edit: rescue redirect_to :action => ''index'' flash[''errors''] =

Problem with syslinux booting via network in floppy image
Hi as described on the syslinux pxe webpage: A multi-hardware boot floppy is included with Windows Server 2000 and 2003. A company called Argon Technology used to offer a free-as-in-beer updated version, but is seems to have gone fully commercial. This floppy (which can also be burned to a CD using El Torito in floppy-emulation mode), is known to work with PXELINUX 2.03 or later only I'm using the free client from 3com, that looks exa...

3Com PXE server
I posted this to the group last year, but the problem was not fixed so I will give it another try. I use 3Com's PXE server to deploy the Fedora Core boot disk to my clients for an ftp install. I also have ghost boot disks, bios update disks, and a video bios repair disk all using the 3Com PXE server. The problem is when I try to boot a Linux kernel. With all versions of syslinux since 1.72

MIGRATE SHARES always fails
Hi, I have an Ubuntu 8.04 box running as Samba PDC (version 3.0.28a) with an LDAP backend, and I tried to migrate a share from a Win2003 server to the Samba box.
