Set global variables without extension..
Is it at all possible to set a Global Variable freely whenever a context gets used without having to enter an extension priority to use SetGlobalVar? This is really limiting the dialplan for me. Heres an example of what I would like to be able to do. [globals] AREACODE= [local] exten=_NXXXXXX,1,Dial(SIP/${AREACODE}${EXTEN}/blah) [anyoldcontext1] AREACODE=313 include=local [anyoldcontext2] AREACODE=810 include=local so then sip accounts would point towards either anyoldcontext1 or anyoldcontext2 and depending on what is set in sip.conf for a context depends o...

Thanks for your reply, [globals] AREACODE=381 [outbound] exten => _NXXXXXX,1,Dial(SIP/SIP-Provider/1${AREACODE}${EXTEN},80) did not work for me, any ideas? Pattern matching....
Will this work to match any number from the 770,404, or 678 area codes? _[404|770|678]NXXXXXX If this won't work, is there a pattern that will do this? no need to dial areacode
Hi To dial an outside line i have to dial 0. I want to have that when we dial local numbers, that is we are in the 08 area, I don't want to have to dial 08, how to set this up in asterisk 1.6? Dial 9 to get out?
...git extention (i.e. 100) on my polycom phones and after the 3rd digit is entered, it dials that extension and b) dial 9 to get out like older PBX systems. Since my internal extensions start with a 1 I think what happens is I enter extension 100 for example, and the phone sits there. If I enter 1, areacode, number the moment I enter the last digit of the number it dials the number. ALSO I'd like to be able to dial local numbers without using 1+areacode. Note that I'm using voicepulse so it makes sense that it isn't intelligent enough to know when a number is a local one or not. Thanks...

chan_capi and DDI (Anlagenanschluss)
Hi all ! We have 3 NTBAs which are all going to our existing PBX. Our areacode is 06003 and our DDI enabled number 9141. I want to exchange that PBX with Asterisk, but still struggle to get it working. call initiation
...em I'm running into is you have to press xxx then press 'send or 'dial'. The pbx doesn't recognize a 3 digit number as an internal extension and automatically dial it the user has to initiate that call. Asterisk automatically initiates calls w/ 9+7 digits and LD calls, 9+1+areacode+number. How would you tell the PBX try an extension once and 3 digits have been pressed. The exception being 9 as that gives a outside line. -- Rock River Internet Roger Grunkemeyer 202 W. State St, 8th Floor grunky@rockriver.net Rockford, IL 61101...

Q: PRI leading 0 (area access code) or 00 (country access code) missing on incoming callerid
...nd international callerids and it's not possible to make the decission based on the length of the presented callerid, as the length of the callerid can vary in most countries. e.g.: i'm getting signalled 4123456789 which could be a call from "Barmstedt (Germany)" which has the areacode '4123' or from Switzerland which has the countrycode '41' somehow our ericsson businessphone 250 fromerly connected to the same E1-PRI was capable of showing the correct number of leading 0s?!? regards frank

Setting Multiple Values via func_odbc ...?
...ues. Can this be done? If not, I will just stick with MySQL, but that's a pain in the ass because the asterisk-addons package has no default rpm spec file for building an RPM. I had something like this in func_odbc.conf: [VOX_LOG_CALL_LEG] dsn=MySQL write=INSERT into CallLog (Source,IDDCode,AreaCode,ProviderId,SIPReply) values (${VAL1},${VAL2},${VAL3},${VAL4},${VAL5}) but it doesn't like it. In order for this to work, I'd have to have several LOG_CALL_LEG functions, each taking one parameter, and then requiring several database updates! Doug. _____________________________...

7 digit dialing to e.164 format
...39;ve asked this once a long time ago and got a vague response, any suggestions? I'm wanting to convert for example a 7 digit extension (whether it be via dialplan or agi) to e.164. This is for the sake of getting everything outbound into e164 format. The issue I see you will need to append the areacode of the calling party to the 7 digits, from there adding a +1 is of course easy. example: Customer dials 5610680, his callerid (from) is +16364424591.. I want to take the 636 and add it to the 561 number so the result would be 6365610680 .. Any thoughts? I've been looking at the internal ast co...

CID and CDR conflict?
Hi all, I've been beating my head against this for some time now. For incoming calls, I'd like to send my users a "localized" caller id number. By "localized," I mean one with out the 1+areacode for local calls and only 10 digits (minus the leading 1) for long distance calls. For example: I get a call from 15055551234. Since I live in the 505, I should see: 5551234 on my caller id. However, if I get a call from 18035556789, I should see: 8035556789 on my caller id. The problem is tha...
