R CMD javareconf in r-base-dev 2.6.0
Hi Dirk, hi list, I just ran into a slight problem while building the recommended packages for CRAN in a chroot environment against the fresh backport of your R 2.6.0 packages. It seems that R CMD javareconf wants to change files in /etc/R during the build, and since I am not building the packages as root in my etch chroot, this fails, even if I am using fakeroot. My workaround was to simply

Slightly OT - use of R
I am trying to get a measure of how R compares in usage as a statistical platform compared to other software. I would guess it is the most widely used among statisticians at least by virtue of it being open source. But is there any study to which I can refer? By asking this list I am not exactly adopting a rigorous approach! Best wishes John John Logsdon

Gmail to Dovecot migration
Hi everyone, I'm trying to migrate my gmail to dovecot following instructions at https://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/Gmail Using -a 'virtual/All' option does not seem to work because the gmail folder with that name does not exist, but -a '[Gmail]/All Mail' seem to work. I'm using the following command: sudo doveadm \ -o imapc_host=imap.gmail.com \ -o imapc_user=user at

ASN.1 encoding ended?
...38.3.legacy The new mixed-mode domain was an NT4 box upgraded to Windows 2003, but the Domain has since been migrated to a virgin Windows 2003 server with SP1. The old native mode domain was Windows 2003 SP1 from the get go. I have not been able to find anyone having this problem in this lists archvies or googling it, so I thought I would post to this list. I have a workaround, just join the machines to the old native-mode domain, but that is going to go away soon, hopefully. Any ideas? Charlie

lazy_expunge doesn't work since upgrade 2.2.30 to 2.2.32
Hi, it seams that the lazy_expunge plugin doesn't work for me after the upgrade... 2.2.32 cry's about plugin { lazy_expunge_only_last_instance=no } is most likely handled as 'yes' - remove the setting completely to disable it. If this is intentional, add quotes around the value: lazy_expunge_only_last_instance="no" I changed it to

Sieve vacation address problem
Hi, it seams I have a problem with the vacation script. The problem is that the vacation answers to a address that is not listed in the sieve script. I checked the postfix master.conf which delivers to lda correct parameter. In the logfile you can see that that office at example.com received a message that get delivered to user at example.com (with the sievescipt) and to office at

doveadm dsync-server doesn't use user parameter?
I did a debug output of the dsync-server and found out that it queries the userdb parameter but doesn't use it. --- Debug: Loading modules from directory: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules Debug: Module loaded: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/lib01_acl_plugin.so Debug: Module loaded: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/lib02_lazy_expunge_plugin.so Debug: Module loaded: /usr/lib/dovecot/modules/lib10_quota_plugin.so

Howdy list, Sorry if this is a frequently discussed topic, or an off-topic question, but I couldn't find much info about my question by performing quick searches in the archives, and my question is pretty tightly related to security... Background: =========== I have a number of FreeBSD machines. Most are 4.x, but a few are 5.x (mainly the testing/devel machines). I also have a single Red
