R CMD javareconf in r-base-dev 2.6.0
Hi Dirk, hi list,
I just ran into a slight problem while building the recommended packages
for CRAN in a chroot environment against the fresh backport of your R
2.6.0 packages. It seems that R CMD javareconf wants to change files in
/etc/R during the build, and since I am not building the packages as
root in my etch chroot, this fails, even if I am using fakeroot. My
workaround was to simply

Slightly OT - use of R
I am trying to get a measure of how R compares in usage as a statistical
platform compared to other software. I would guess it is the most widely
used among statisticians at least by virtue of it being open source.
But is there any study to which I can refer? By asking this list I am not
exactly adopting a rigorous approach!
Best wishes

Gmail to Dovecot migration
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to migrate my gmail to dovecot following instructions at
https://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/Gmail
Using -a 'virtual/All' option does not seem to work because the gmail
folder with that name does not exist, but -a '[Gmail]/All Mail' seem to
work. I'm using the following command:
sudo doveadm \
-o imapc_host=imap.gmail.com \
-o imapc_user=user at

ASN.1 encoding ended?
...38.3.legacy
The new mixed-mode domain was an NT4 box upgraded to Windows 2003, but the
Domain has since been migrated to a
virgin Windows 2003 server with SP1.
The old native mode domain was Windows 2003 SP1 from the get go.
I have not been able to find anyone having this problem in this lists
archvies or googling it, so I thought I would
post to this list. I have a workaround, just join the machines to the old
native-mode domain, but that is going to
go away soon, hopefully.
Any ideas?

I would also like to help as well.
As KMacy knows before i asked a lot of questions for T2 types of
servers but unfortunately i have no more access to those kind of
hardware as well.
I;m willing to participate if a team will be formated.

unified authentication
Howdy list,
Sorry if this is a frequently discussed topic,
or an off-topic question, but I couldn't find much
info about my question by performing quick searches
in the archives, and my question is pretty tightly
related to security...
Background:
===========
I have a number of FreeBSD machines. Most are 4.x,
but a few are 5.x (mainly the testing/devel machines).
I also have a single Red

smbmount depends on the (linux) smbfs filesystem to be useful. The *BSD
variants also have a smbfs (that doesn't use smbmount), or you could try
sharity or put a NFS server on the NT box.
This is a rather common question, with several answers that can be found
through the searchable list archvie at http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/
It should be mentioned in the smbmount manpage as well, but it isn't.
That's a bug that will be fixed.
'./configure --help' does say
--with-smbmount Include SMBMOUNT (Linux only) support
but I suppose a lot of people don't compile their...
