samba oplocks not breaking
...le in the same directory takes 45 seconds. If the file was recently
opened it returns immediately.
I have raised this on several mailing lists, see:
<http://lists.luv.asn.au/wws/arc/luv-main/2008-06/msg00143.html>
<http://oss.sgi.com/archives/xfs/2008-06/msg00210.html>
<http://www.archivum.info/linux-fsdevel@vger.kernel.org/2008-06/msg00337.html>
So far it would appear to be Samba is not releasing the oplock when
another process tries to break it.
I am not entirely convinced this is Samba's fault:

X11, fonts, R-2.0.1, R-2.2.1 and R-devel
...compilation options, for the same
reason.
So my last option is that it seems to be a problem with R, X11 and gnome,
specifically.
Any ideas or suggestions?
I have googled and somebody in the FreeBSD lists talked about more or less
the same problems, but it seems that without success:

I paste the sessions and the errors, if it helps:

MS-GSM codec issues - Anybody seen anything similar?
...c seems to work when talking directly to Asterisk, when 2 of these
clients talk to each other through Asterisk the sound is all mangled on
both ends. I assume MS-GSM is the same as used by Windows Messenger and
so my problem may be related to an earlier posting which had no replies:
http://www.archivum.info/asterisk-users@lists.digium.com/2006-01/msg00988.html
We are running v1.2.13 and we have tried v1.4.0-beta3 too.
Interestingly, on v1.4 the codec shows up as 'unknown' when you look at
the call using 'sip show channels'? If anybody has heard of similar
issues let me know....

Is there a libsmb to make a client / server ?
...a.
I need also to add additional operation codes for some specific file operations
not supported on classic file systems. It would be great if it would be possible
to add easy new operations codes and bind them to a call back function with this lib.
Thanks in advance for a response.

smbldap_open: cannot access LDAP when not root..
Greetings list,
I just upgraded my main file server, and copied over a dump of my LDAP
database, samba conf files, tdbs, etc.
Everything fired up OK and runs, except:
-Some users (perhaps 5 or 6 out of 125) can't log in, getting the "domain
unavailable" message
-I can't rejoin them to the domain - the process appears to succeed, but
doesn't

Need help with directory create time
Hello,
my problem:
In the past "fake directory create times" did what I expect. The creation time
of directories were fixed.
Then I changed to samba 4 and "fake directory create times" did not work any
longer. But I found a workaround and the creation times of directories were
fixed.
Today there was a virus and I restored a backup and the directory creation
time is

Thank you.
There is no difference with or without "fake directory create times=yes".
After changes in the folder, the creation time is changed too (current time)

universal netlogon script
Hi Guys,
Advise, I have 200 users, they all have access to 20 shares in different
combinations. They all have their own netlogon scripts... its a management
nightmare,
is there a way to create a universal netlogon script that I can include all
the shares to mount and it will silently fail on the ones it cant? Perhaps
there is a smarter way to implement this idea,
lynching is welcome, so is

Ferret not able to read a Lucene Index?
Hi all,
Having problems trying to get Ferret to read an index generated by
Lucene.
Am I right in thinking Ferret should be able to read a Lucene generated
index no problem?
Using the code snippets detailed in
http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/64099#new
Any advice gratefully received.
Many Thanks,
Steven

'I'nvalid extension handling problems, even with workaround
Hello folks,
I'm having trouble configuring Asterisk to play an "invalid extension" message to
anyone dialing an undefined extension.
First I tried using the 'i' pseudo-extension, but it didn't work at all;
searching the wiki I found that page:
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20i%20extension
where it basically says that the 'i'
