Only thing wrong there is that you may be using the '.local' domain
(unless it is has been changed to hide the real domain). If it is the
real domain,

Samba AD - Issue with winbindd: Could not write result
Hello,
I have the same problems outlined in this old thread...
Only difference the original poster was on RHEL6.X, I am on RHEL7, he
compiled samba on its own, I used Sernet Samba (latest)...
Unfortunately there is no solution on this thread. Suggestions?
Thank you

Strange error messages
Hello,
I've configured a small Linux box just for sharing
some disks and route the traffic across two networks.
This works fine, since Samba can join the domain of
my NT4 PDC by Winbind.
But I get those strange error messages on my logs,
even if all seems to work correctly.
This seems regarding to winbindd:

Trying to detect files with funny chars in their name, as I cannot
find them with "find", I use the error (Illegal byte sequence) given
by rsync when the target charset cannot reproduce them.
While doing this I have met this error:

NFS vs Replication
Thank you all for replies!!!
Some missing infos...
- As load balancer I'm using a pair of keepalived with simple setup and
not the DNS
- Load balancer algorithm is "Weighted Least-Connection"
- About 20 domains and 3000 email
- I'm monitoring my backend servers with poolmon
- The backend servers are virtual machine (vmware) with datastore on
"all flash" storage

pop3_migration plugin
Hello,
I'm trying to migrate from an old courier-IMAP server on which I made a
plugin to access the individual mailboxes with a master password
Emails are used in both POP3 and IMAP.
I followed this guide https://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/Dsync
In the log I find these messages, which are generated by the server
independently without issuing the command "doveadm backup ..."

Slow Ms Access in one share
Hi,
I have samba-3.0.11-1 on a Red hat ES 2.1 box.
I also have a Win 2003 Server Domain Controller, to which my users should
autenticate.
My files are all in linux machine (+ also apache, mysql etc)
I have also an Access mdb that could be open by several user at same time,
based on linked mysql tables.
Opening certain masks in access is veryyyyyy slow, so I try to create
another share, accessible

NFS vs Replication
Hello list,
I built an email system using a proxy / director pair (IMAP, POP3, LMTP)
and a backend pair.
To have an HA system, I would like to understand if it is better to use
an NFS export or replication to save emails and index files
NFS is provided by a NAS (in HA), while for replication I would use the
local backend disks
Which of the two systems is more reliable? Are there any drawbacks

last-login Plugin
Hello,
i'm using last_login plugin and store data into a MySql DB. I'm using
version 2.3.10.1 and the config is at the end of the email.
I would like to store also the remote IP and the session name. The
config is working but other informations are written only the first
time. Any update is ignored but last_login time.
Debugging MySQL, I notice that dovecot is using this query:

Is there another way of doing the bindings so that the Windows share doesn't run on TCP/IP but will still work with SAMBA? If so, where in the docs should I be looking, and if not - maybe this should be something discussed by the SAMBA dev people..
Regards,
Marc.

network. I did read somewhere on the web (several years ago) of a guy
who managed to boot windows from the net.
With the start of Win 98/ME/ etc.etc it's not posible anymore.
I currently use PXE to install machine from the net using bpbatch that
works great only bpbatch is not really under developnt and the script
language is a bit buggy.
I see only one option to boot windows from the net and
