Increasing database size limit
Hi Volker, First I apologize for very late reply. I did tests in the meantime... Trust relationships are the option we keep in mind. As trusts are for now bidirectional-full-trust they give us possibility to increase domain size. If we have to split our domain we will split in one domain for users and another for computers (meaning users' MS Windows computers as they need to be included into

link_to problem
hi @ all I create a new archiv.html.erb and a archiv method in the controller. Now, I would like to link from index.html.erb to archiv.html.erb. I tried to use <%= link_to ''archive'', archiv_xxx_path %> but it doesn''t run. It appears a error message "SyntaxError in xxx#index". Does anyone know, how I can enhance this problem? thanks a lot... -- Posted

SMB2 & Mac OSX
...for Mac OSX (see my post for the Mac OSX-related Globals https://community.wd.com/t/solved-tweaking-samba-smb2-for-mac-androids/236189 ), however, although I was able to reduce the SMB2 packets by more than half (per wireshark), I do not get the big improvement described in https://www.sambaxp.org/archive_data/SambaXP2016-SLIDES/wed/sambaxp2016-wed-Ralph_Boehme-JuicingTheFruit.pdf . No SMB2_QUERY_DIRECTORY in any of the SMB2 packets. Have tweaked Mac OSX devices by disabling signing (nsmb.conf) Wireshark shows that devices are connecting at SMB2 dialect 0302; server AAPL Create Context response is: “...

Eclipse (Java) locking issues after upgrade (3.6.23 -> 4.4.3)
Hello Jeremy, Could you send me some references to the ‘cross-protocol issue’ (Bugzilla, documentation, etc)? I’ll disable the ‘kernel oplocks’ and see what happens. We’re getting all sorts of weirdness from our Mac SMB clients since we upgraded to Samba v4.4.3. In particular, when we open a session with an OSX (Yosemite) client with SMB autommount directories, we see multiple SMBD processes

Samba-created files with POSIX ACLs gaining execute bit
Hai, The docs shown are a bit old, yes, i suggest start reading these. https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_Windows_ACLs https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setting_up_a_Share_Using_POSIX_ACLs Look at the smb.conf man and search for acl ( or exec ) Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- > Van: samba [mailto:samba-bounces at lists.samba.org] Namens

Status of Windows Search Protocol support in Samba?
I've been trying to Google this but have not found any definitive answers. Does Samba currently support Windows Search Protocol[1]? I did find these lecture slides from a few years ago (five years?) but they don't tell me about the current status: https://sambaxp.org/archive_data/SambaXP2015-SLIDES/wed/track1/sambaxp2015-wed-track1-Noel_Power-WindowSearchProtocolAndSamba.pdf (by Noel Power of SUSE). If you're wondering what I'm talking about, here is a brief explanation: The Windows Search tool on a Windows Vista/7/8/10/2008/2012/2016/2019 computer normally indexes...
