Kodi crashes when trying to browse network
...\027\207\260U", >     len=len at entry=2) at ../lib/util/genrand.c:46 The above is deliberate. open of /dev/urandom should never fail. If it does we have worse problems :-). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki//dev/random "In Unix-like operating systems, /dev/random, /dev/urandom and /dev/arandom are special files that serve as pseudorandom number generators. They allow access to environmental noise collected from device drivers and other sources.[1] /dev/random typically blocks if there is less entropy available than requested; /dev/urandom typically never blocks, even if the pseudorandom...

arc4randomstir() in OpenSSH
I'm trying to understand the rational behind the arc4random() and arc4random_stir() functions in the OpenSSH source tree. On a system that has a good random number generator, say an in kernel /dev/random what extra functionality is this stuff providing ? Would it be acceptable to replace the calls to arc4random() with reading from /dev/random and drop the arc4random_stir() all together ?

internal-sftp and logging not working with Fedora and chroot using 5.5?
Hope ya'all can help! Been reading and reading, and adjusting... to no avail. We need to have chroot'd SFTP activities logged on a file server and for whatever reason, I simply cannot get it to log with users that are chroot'd (this is necessary for auditing and HIPAA - so it is pretty important) I have tried with Fedora 11/12 and even an older Fedora 8 server, the same results: 1.

status of openssh-2
Hi, My name is Stefan Mangard and I plan to implement an extension to ssh as a final project in a cryptography class. Since I want to use an open source of ssh, I decided to use the openssh implementation. I am currently working with openssh-1.2.3, but I'd also like to implement my extension for protocol 2, I wanted to ask you how far the development of the implementation of openssh-2 is.

Kodi crashes when trying to browse network
Hi, I maintain Kodi[1] in RPMFusion[2] and the latest version of Kodi, 18.0, is crashing when trying to browse the SMB network. The previous version, 17.x, worked fine. The backtrace shows that Samba was not able to open /dev/urandom, which can't be true and must be masking another issue. The issue occurs on any Fedora 28 or 29 system (multiple user reports[3]). SELinux is disabled and
