Spaces in a name
I am reading regressors from an excel file (I have no control over the file) and some of the element names have spaces: i.e. "Small Bank Aquired" but I have found that lm(SourceData ~ . - "Small Bank Aquired", mcReg) doesn't work (mcReg = modelCurrentRegressors) As they are toggles I have ran them through factor() to be treated propertly as 0 or 1 but due to the fact I am grabbing automagically the first 2/3rds of the d...

Problems with the Speex Jitter Buffer
Hi, I am using the JitterBuffer. Since there is not so much documentation I think I dont use it in a correct way. All the packets are recieved (I control the sequence numbers) but the JitterBuffer often tells me he has no packet. I am using it in the following way: I am not sure if I use the ticks correctly but I think it can be set to 20(msec). It is set as a Member in my class and i

Kerberos method not working like use kerberos keytab?
...rberos, request a "FILE" krb5 credential cache type # (leave empty to just do krb5 authentication but not have a ticket # afterwards) krb5_ccache_type = FILE # make successful authentication dependend on membership of one SID # (can also take a name) ;require_membership_of = There is TGT aquired when a user logs in. Am I missing something in my configuration? This is really a cool feature for using NFSv4.

OT: Online TTS engines?
The one I like: http://www.rhetorical.com/cgi-bin/demo.cgi is toast. I think they went broke or got aquired by someone. Also, is there a Festival voice that sounds as good as Rhetorical or the AT & T stuff? The default one is barely legible. Since Festival is a little brutal to configure, I'd like to get someone's recommendation then go through the pain of reconfiguring it only once.

Problems with the Speex Jitter Buffer
Thanks for your reply Jean-Marc! this was what I had before. But I decided to restructure it since the thread that plays the sound is a callback from the sound hardware, more or less an interrupt handler. For me it seems more reasonable to waste some memory for to save the decompressed Packet. While I write this I begin to think that it is possible I decompress Packets that are never used

RedHat 9.0 and 100 percent CPU utilization
Please, don't hate me because I use Redhat. I am aware that I am asking for problems in running Asterisk on Redhat. I recently aquired a nifty server, moved my digium cards, and installed asterisk. I noticed that one of the four processors was being used at 100% and nothing was working. I tracked CPU utilization back to the Asterisk process. Please, help. ssl and NameVirtualHost
I recently aquired a Verisign SSL certificate for my web server on Centos 4, with apache 2.0.59 from centosplus. It however doesn't seem to be working the way I've set it up, browsers connect but are told the certiticate is not recognized. Showing more info, the information looks correct. I think it...

Multi-line TTS Outbound Dialer
Hello, I've been lurking around the mailing list and browsing around on Asterisk-related links while I wait for my X100P to come in the mail. So far I haven't found very much information related to what I want to do with Asterisk. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of any work that may already have been done on a project similar to the one I'm trying to

NUT uses port 3493 for everything
The NUT project uses port 3493 to receive traffic to the upsd server. Unlike the protocols http (80) and https (443), NUT has no specific port for encrypted traffic. For the upsdTLS.py daemon. I squatted port 563, but it would be much better to have an officially assigned port. Port 3494 was at one time assigned to ibm3494 3494/tcp # IBM 3494 [Jeffrey_Pilch] ibm3494

Problems with the Speex Jitter Buffer
(Sorry about the delay -- currently attending ICASSP) Hi, Haven't looked at all the details, but what's clearly wrong is that you need to put the *compressed* packets in the jitter buffer and decode them only when you _get() them. video files contain one frame more than encoded
...le are at the same time (correct time of the last encoded frame). Is that normal or maybe a bug or a mistake in encoding? If it should be normal: What is the reason? Can it be prevented? How is the relation of the nominal time of the frames in the file to the time at which the encoded frames were aquired --- is there some interpolation in time? I need to know the real time corresponding to each frame in the file ... Olaf

Some more win32-changenotify analysis
Hi all, I decided to check the responsiveness of the pure Ruby vs C extension versions of win32-changenotify. I setup this little file generator program: a = [] 10.times{ |n| a << Thread.new{ File.open("File_#{n}", ''w''){ |fh| fh.puts "test #{n}" } } } a.each{ |t| t.join } The pure Ruby version did not do so well. In some cases it

WaveIn/WaveOut and Speex
...buffer using Speex Decode Speex Char buffer into PCM char buffer Play PCM char buffer using WaveOut The end-result is very distorted sound. I use the following PCM format: waveFormat.nChannels = 1; waveFormat.nSamplesPerSec = 8000; waveFormat.wBitsPerSample = 8; Once sound is aquired by the mic, I send it to Speex in a Char buffer. It looks something like this: Encode(char* inBuffer, DWORD bufferLength) ... float* input = new float[frameSize]; ZeroMemory(input, frameSize); ... for( ) { input[..] = inBuffer[..]; } ... speex_encode(enc_state, input, &bits);...

TOSHARG-BDC.xml translate finish and some bug found
Now,TOSHARG-BDC.xml translate to Japanese finished. and Some bug found. Samba-3 can act as a Backup Domain Controller (BDC) to another Samba Primary Domain Controller (PDC). A Samba-3 PDC can operate with an LDAP account backend. The LDAP backend can be either a common master LDAP server or a slave server. The use of a slave LDAP server has the benefit that when the master is down, clients may

GPLPV 0.10.55 net misbehaviour
I''m using W2K2 32bit on a 3.2.1 Lenny-amd64 host. While the pv disk driver works as expected, I encounter problems with the network driver. I tried several installation scenarios, all with the same result. My test looks like this: I install gplpv, but without letting the networking driver install. After reboot I RTL8139 ist still active and working, and gplpv devices manage the disks.
