Loop length supported by FXS module on Wildcat TDM400 card
Does anyone know (appoximately) the max loop length that the FXS module on a
Wildcat TDM400 card will drive an analog phone(over standard - say cat3 or
26 gage twisted-pair wire). It's clearly not going to be 18kft, but perhaps
4000 feet?
Thanks

Background:
During routine codec/dimensioning testing, I observed a strange,
recurring cpu spike occuring appoximately every 12 seconds on a
completely idle system with only the zaptel drivers loaded. I used
'vmstat 1' to monitor this. I was using the wcfxo driver (wildcard
fxo) as a timing source. After switching to the ztdummy driver and
using the usb controller as a clock source, I observed that th...

Filled region on graph
Hi,
Say I'd like to fill in color or by hashing the region above 0.5 and
below -0.5 in the following situation.
> x <- seq(0,2*pi, length=100)
> plot(x, sin(x), type="l")
> # Now fill the top part and the bottom part
The only mention of the words "fill" or "filled" seem to be in
filled.contour.
So is this possible in R?
Thanks in advance.

Samba 2.2.3 Windows Printer Drivers definitions
Hi,
I have a question about the assignment of printer drivers
for windows
to my printers in printcap.
How do I configure a printer located in my printcap to be
recognised
by a windows pc as the right model?
Where is the mapping supposed to be saved?
I have RH 7.2, samba 2.2.3 and lprng running on a PPro 200
Compaq.
My intention is that it will serv as a queue server for
about 100 printers.

glmmPQL
Dear R users,
can anybody explain me why the function glmmPQL(.) behaves in different
ways, depending on the number of measurements/individuals you use? To
show you this, I generated two examples. The first one includes 20
indivduals with each 100 repeated measurements (binary response), the
second one includes 40 individuals. The 'individuals' differ only in
different x values. I

TE121 - Idle system load at ~0.3 - Bad DAHDI 2.2.0.2 behaviour ?!
...k array controllers, etc.
Question #1:
What do these messages actually mean ?
Can they be associated to a bad link/telco switch configuration ?
- We've noticed that the system load at idle is about 0.3 when DAHDI is loaded.
If we unload DAHDI, system load at idle goes to appoximately 0, as expected.
Question #2:
This looks like a very odd behaviour. We've installed several
other systems
(different HW/SW versions, however) without seeing such
behaviour. Is this
expected or could this be related with the "HDLC Aborts" / "Bad

ZFS Scalability/performance
Hello,
I''m quite interested in ZFS, like everybody else I suppose, and am about
to install FBSD with ZFS.
On that note, i have a different first question to start with. I
personally am a Linux fanboy, and would love to see/use ZFS on linux. I
assume that I can use those ZFS disks later with any os that can
work/recognizes ZFS correct? e.g. I can install/setup ZFS in FBSD, and
later use
