Samba 2.2 CVS
...mba.org:/cvsroot login
<password is cvs >
cvs -z5 -d :pserver:cvs@pserver.samba.org:/cvsroot co -r SAMBA_2_2 samba
this will grab samba_2_2 and place it in a directory lableled samba.
leaving out the SAMBA_2_2 grabs HEAD.
you can get other modules as follows:
SAMBA_2_2
HEAD
APPLIANCE_HEAD
APPLIANCE_TNG
there are others but I haven't tried them.
enjoy..

...e doubt, probably very easy for you. I wanted to know what are
the differences between all Samba versions available for cvs checkout. I
know the difference beetween head and tng, but I don't know the difference
between these tags:
- samba
- SAMBA_2_2
- APPLIANCE_HEAD
And these:
- SAMBA_TNG
- APPLIANCE_TNG
I would like to use the latest cvs samba and the latest winbind. Which tags
should I use?
Cheers

Try going for the APPLIANCE_TNG branch instead. The
appliance_head code contains a really old, broken version of
winbind.
I've actually finished merging winbind into the actual head
branch. It compiled last time I looked which was yesterday
afternoon. (-:
