weird characters in files created by gnome login on samba share
Hello, I just tried a gnome login with an empty home directory on a samba mounted directory, and this resulted in several files with strange characters in the filenames in the end. (as created by the initial gnome login) I cannot reproduce this by hand, and it certainly does not happen when I do the login on a local directory, or when I copy that local directory to the samba directory. I use cifs1.34a on top of a vanilla 2.6.11.9, and on both the client and server side I use samba 3.0.14a In the attached files you can see the output of "find" in the mentioned direct...

[PATCH v2 0/3] New inspect_list_applications2 API
Here's the new API method and update to virt-inspector. I still need to implement app_arch for debian and windows (if applicable), for now they just return empty strings. New in v2: incorporated feedback from v1, also added patch #3 which updates the documentation where it references the deprecated API. Take it or leave it.

strange issue locating a file
I have been editing a branch on my Fedora system, completed the changes and was satisfied that it works and using svn, merged it to my main trunk. I have been testing the main trunk and it seems fine. I committed my changes to the svn repository. On my live web application, I did an ''svn update'' which brought all the files in but when I launch, I get an error on my

error: no marshal_dump is defined for class Thread
I get this error periodically in backgroundrb.log, but only on my production box (the one running ruby 1.8.5) - my dev box doesn''t get this error. As far as I can tell, everything is working ok, despite the error (I don''t really know how to determine if the jobs are getting threaded successfully, but they are running, that I am sure of). Here''s the dump: no

I installed at least one gem since I thought I actually once was able to run ''rake appdoc'' command since there is an api for my models and the ez_where plugin that I installed earlier. "reaper" is not picking up new changes to my application???
Hi, Can anyone shed any light on why "reaper" (whilst seemingly working re restarting my mongrel ruby process) does not pick up changes to my application? (e.g. changing a title in a view for example). It''s like the "mongrel_rails start etc..." is just restarting the current process but ignoring the new details re where the new application directory is. That is

[PATCH server] fixed smart pool 'save' regression.
The recent refactoring didn't work properly for new smart pools, so I've cleaned jup the parameter handling for the various pool 'create' actions. [PATCH server] final cleanup for service layer refactoring.
I've pulled out the no-longer-necessary remnants of the old way of handling auth and before_filters as well as fixing a couple bugs that had crept in along the way. Unit test fixes for the refactoring will follow in a subsequent patch. Signed-off-by: Scott Seago <sseago at redhat.com> --- src/app/controllers/application.rb | 46 ----------------

Unexpected rsync behavior with --relative and symlink destinations
Hello, all. Sorry if this topic has been hashed out before -- I didn't see it searching the archives of this list. I want to mirror a local system's /apps and /usr/local directories (both are real directories, not symlinks) to a remote system where /apps and /usr/local are symlinks to /local/apps and /local/usrlocal, respectively. The target directories exist on the remote system.

multi-app merb
Ezra, I love merb, especially because it''s keeping the things that Rails does well and improves on things that Rails hasn''t done so well. One of my biggest pain points with Rails has become multi-app integration. A lot of web sites consist of multiple apps (e.g. a core site, a forum, a blog/cms, etc.). Doing this sort of thing is very ugly and inefficient with the current
